The annual EA SPORTS FC 27 ratings debate has officially begun, and there are few surprises at the very top. Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland share the highest men’s rating at 91 OVR, while Alexia Putellas remains the highest-rated women’s player with a 91 OVR of her own.
With more than 21,000 players included across 800+ clubs and national teams, there is plenty of scope for arguments further down the rankings too. EA has now revealed its top 27 men’s and women’s players, giving us the first proper look at how the new season’s ratings are shaping up.

Mbappé And Haaland Lead The Men’s Rankings
There is no outright winner at the top of the men’s table this year, with both Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland receiving an OVR of 91.
Behind them, Manchester City midfielder Rodri and Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha sit on 90, alongside Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Thibaut Courtois and Jude Bellingham.
One of the more noticeable movers is Michael Olise, who has climbed four points to reach 90 OVR. Lamine Yamal also continues his rapid rise, sitting alongside Pedri on 90.

Putellas Remains On Top Of The Women’s Game
The women’s rankings have Alexia Putellas retaining her position at the summit with 91 OVR.
Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí and Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw follow on 90, while Caroline Graham Hansen, Mariona, Ewa Pajor, Claudia Pina and Temwa Chawinga all sit on 89.
There are also some notable rises, with Yui Hasegawa and Hannah Hampton both improving by three points.

The Ratings Reveal Is Just Getting Started
EA isn’t stopping with the initial top 27 announcement. Ratings will continue to be revealed throughout the week, covering some of the world’s biggest domestic competitions before the full base item database arrives.
The schedule includes the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, NWSL, MLS and Liga MX, among others. The complete base item database without PlayStyles is due on August 21st, with an updated database including PlayStyles following on September 10th after the international transfer deadline.
That should give players a much clearer picture of their potential Ultimate Team options before launch.
FC 27 Is Nearly Ready For Kick-Off
EA SPORTS FC 27 is set to launch worldwide on September 25th, 2026, with early access available from September 18th for eligible Ultimate and Ultimate Plus Edition owners. The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new ratings arrive after EA already confirmed Kylian Mbappé as FC 27’s cover star, continuing his association with the series. For now, though, the debate belongs to the ratings. Is Mbappé really worth sharing top spot with Haaland? Should Yamal be even higher? And which players have been harshly overlooked? The arguments can begin.
