There is no denying the fact that the Xbox Games With Gold scheme is a god-send for many gamers, giving access to a ton of gaming opportunities that they would never otherwise have had the chance to play. The Earth Defense Force is certainly making the most of those opportunities having already provided a number of games for free. Today though we see Earth Defense Force 2025 go free – and it’s an experience you shouldn’t miss!
Released back in 2014, Earth Defense Force 2025 is the latest Earth Defense Force title to make the most of Xbox Games With Gold opportunities, following on from the free nature of Earth Defense Force 2017 in June 2019 and Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon a couple of months earlier.
Usually priced up at £19.99, those Xbox owners who have a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription to hand will be able to get a free download moving from right now. A native Xbox 360 game that is now also playable on Xbox One, EDF 2025 will be free until mid-September 2019, after which it’ll be found shooting back up to the standard price.
But what is 2025 all about? Well, set 8 years after the alien invasion was previously pushed back, we now see another emergency take hold – the aliens and insects have been discovered under the surface, evolving like never before. It is therefore up to the Earth Defense Force to once again save the world, standing up to the creatures which are trying to overthrow humanity.
Running as an action shooter, expect guns, explosions and destruction galore as you battle against the evil forces and attempt to save the land.
The Xbox Store will be able to give full access to Earth Defense Force 2025 on Xbox, and if you wish to enjoy the freeness the Games With Gold scheme brings then you’ll have to make sure you visit the store prior to the 16th September. It may not be the standout game that is being given for free this month – Hitman The Complete First Season takes that crown – but you’d be mad to miss out on the opportunity to join the Earth Defense Force and save 2025.
