With many console gamers having first witnessed the bizarre world of Edna & Harvey back in 2019, courtesy of the second instalment Harvey’s New Eyes, it’s finally time to uncover how their story began. That’s right, the original Edna & Harvey: The Breakout has just launched in Anniversary Edition form for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is a classic point and click adventure which follows the life of Edna as she awakens within an asylum, possessing no memories pertaining to the situation at hand. Fortunately, her plush toy rabbit, Harvey, can talk and this naturally helps alleviate any fears of insanity, encouraging Edna to escape as soon as possible. The potentially evil Dr. Marcel won’t make it easy though. Along the way she’ll encounter a host of weird characters and face tricky inventory-based problems to overcome, with hilarious results more often than not.
Due to this being the Anniversary Edition of Daedalic Entertainment’s cult hit, one can expect improvements aplenty. The insane adventure has been completely re-drawn and given a real overhaul when compared to the 2008 version. That means higher resolution visuals are in place, there’s the use of new technology, and a more intuitive control setup. Therefore it’s obviously going to be better than ever.
If you wish to become embroiled in the zany escapades found in Edna & Harvey: The Breakout – Anniversary Edition, it’ll cost £16.74 for the privilege via the Xbox Store.
