We’ve had a year of eFootball 2024, but now it’s time to look to the future, all as Konami evolve the game into eFootball 2025. And with it come some tasty Leo Messi and Neymar Jr special editions.
Available right now as the latest version of eFootball is eFootball 2025. It was always going to happen, what with a new football season kicking in and Konami jumping on the back of things. But with that change from the 2024 edition to 2025, comes a couple of extra options for eFootball players to consider.
eFootball 2025 arrives with superstars in tow
On the back of some large scale maintenance on Konami’s end, eFootball 2025 should now be playable again. And if you’re looking to come to this free-to-play football experience, then it may well be worth your time checking out a few paid options. With Messi and Neymar front and centre, they’ve certainly bagged the right cover stars.
Present and correct on the Xbox Store right now is eFootball 2025, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. This means it’s a new ear for eFootball once more, with the £12.98 Leo Messi Edition 2025 and similarly priced Neymar Jr Edition 2025.
Each of these add various in-game goodies to eFootball, along with coins and a huge focus on the player at hand.
Messi Edition Additions

What’s new in eFootball 2025?
The latest update to eFootball promises to bring a few new updates to the in-game experience. They mostly come about via the consideration of community feedback, with Konami able to implement the following…
- There has been a removal of contract limits, meaning users can use all of their players, no matter when they signed them. Players whose contracts have already expired can also use the service again.
- Automatic options have been added to player progression. This means that users can opt not to think about the balance complexities of player upgrades, making it easy to train players. This is also met with the freedom to reset player progression without the need to spend GP.
- The “Finesse Dribble” is now also in eFootball™. With improved usability, users will now have even more options to enjoy tactical battles between offence and defence.
- The new “Booster Slot” is a way to customise player attributes, giving them extra stat boosts. By gaining and using either “Random” or “Select” Booster Tokens, users can fine tune their players even more using the 17 various Booster types. Footballing legends such as Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Ludovic Giuly, and Deco will be appearing as Epic cards with these “Booster Slots” in the new update.
