FIFAe World Cup 25 – in eFootball

The world of esports is descending on Riyadh, and Konami is celebrating the occasion by completely refreshing the eFootball pitch.

The FIFAe World Cup 2025 is officially set to begin, and to commemorate the tournament, a massive new update and in-game campaign have launched today for eFootball. Players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile can dive into the festivities right now.

This update brings the excitement of the global stage directly to your console, offering free rewards, new tactical features, and significant gameplay adjustments just in time for the finals.

A Global Showdown in Riyadh

It feels like only yesterday we were discussing the initial Konami and FIFA World Cup team-up back in late 2024. Now, that partnership is bearing fruit on the biggest stage.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s historic Africa Cup of Nations partnership announcement, Konami is proving that eFootball is the undisputed home for official tournament action.

The FIFAe World Cup 2025 kicks off on December 10th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This year’s tournament has seen a record-breaking 16.51 million participants whittled down to just 12 national representatives. The console division will see these elite players battling it out in a 2v2 format, while mobile competitors face off in 1v1 duels to crown the ultimate champion.

Get Tournament Ready with Free Rewards

But you don’t have to be in Saudi Arabia to feel like a winner. Starting today, December 4th, and running through December 18th, all eFootball players can participate in a special in-game campaign.

  • Log-In Bonuses: Simply logging in during the campaign period will grant you a variety of special items.
  • Daily Player Gifts: You will receive one player item each day from a curated special player list.
  • Squad Challenges: Clearing specific rule-based challenges will unlock even more rewards for your Dream Team.
  • Viewing Rewards: By accessing the viewing page within eFootball to watch the tournament broadcasts, you can earn up to 2,500 eFootball Points.
  • A Tactical Evolution: Analysis, Advice, and Koeman

Coinciding with the campaign is a significant game update that adds new layers of depth to your managerial career.

Analyse and Improve

Two major new features are designed to help you up your game. The “Analysis” tool visualises your playstyle from your last 10 PvP matches, comparing your stats against Division 1–4 users to show you where you stand.

Meanwhile, a new “Advice” feature provides real-time feedback from coaches during matches, potentially serving as a catalyst for tactical improvements.

The “Link-Up Play” feature expands today with the legendary Ronald Koeman. He possesses the “Aggressive Centring A” skill. When Koeman (the Centrepiece) has the ball, your “Key Man” will actively make runs towards the goal. Activating this link-up boosts the accuracy of crosses and direct shots, making it a deadly tactic.

To celebrate, legends like David Beckham and Jan Koller are available in-game now as perfect partners for this strategy.

Refining the Pitch: Gameplay Adjustments

Konami has also popped the hood to fine-tune the core gameplay experience.

  • Auto Control: The AI can now take control if you are not actively playing.
  • Defender Speed: Adjustments have been made to reduce the extreme disparities between defenders and speedy attackers.
  • Stamina Tuning: Players with decreased stamina in the latter stages of a match will now maintain better reaction speeds.
  • Defensive Awareness: Defenders with high awareness can now keep up with opponents more effectively, even if their acceleration stat is lower.

The stage is set, the update is live, and the rewards are waiting. Whether you are tuning in to watch the pros battle for the world title or refining your own squad with the new tactical tools, eFootball is ending the year on a high note.

The kickoff whistle has blown.

Make sure you have a copy of eFootball in your digital library. It’s on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
