Looking for a new hunting ground? It’s time to stalk the Scandinavian wilderness with the new Lintukoto Reserve in Way of the Hunter

Should you have a liking for hunting games, then you’d probably have spent some time with Way of the Hunter. And whilst this still falls a little short of the genre leader – theHunter: Call of the Wild – it’s not a bad second option to have. In fact, consider the expansions and DLC that have hit the game, and it begins to move up the ladder even more. That’s the case again with the opening of the Lintukoto Reserve.

Continue the Way of the Hunter

Available today as the latest addition to the world of Way of the Hunter, the Lintukoto Reserve sees players given the opportunity to travel through the wilderness of Scandinavia; home to a wild range of wildlife.

It’s here where you’ll discover the Northern Lynx, some Mountain Reindeer and the cutesy Arctic Fox. There’s even the Eurasian Moose wandering the world too and so you’ll need to make the most of the highest of vantage points, or lowest of riversides in order to succeed in your hunt.

The wildlife found in the Lintukoto Reserve include:

  • Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus)
  • Brown Bear (Ursus arctos)
  • Eurasian Badger (Meles meles)
  • Eurasian Moose (Alces alces alces)
  • Eurasian Wolverine (Gulo gulo gulo)
  • European Hare (Lepus europaeus)
  • European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)
  • Fallow Deer (Dama dama)
  • Gray Wolf (Canis lupus)
  • Greylag Goose (Anser anser)
  • Mouflon (Ovis musimon)
  • Mountain Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus)
  • Northern Lynx (Lynx lynx lynx)
  • Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)
  • Red Deer (Cervus elaphus)
  • Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)
  • Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus)
  • Wild Boar (Sus scrofa)
  • Wild Duck (Anas platyrhynchos)

In this expansive landscape, players can explore wide, enchanting forests glistening under gentle rain, vibrant meadows teeming with life, serene wetlands with meandering water channels, and hills occasionally dusted with snow. Every corner of the reserve offers a fresh adventure and an opportunity to experience nature in its purest form.

A new reserve

You’ll find the new Reserve as an individual purchase, working neatly with the base game that you’ll have in your library. It’s present for Xbox Series X|S players, as well as those on PS5 and PC.

Further, the Lintukoto Reserve is also present in Map Pack 2, combined with the previously launched Matariki Park. That’s probably your best bet if you’re a Way of the Hunter addict.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
