Embrace the funky ’70s with the latest Rocksmith Mix Pack

2026's Best Games

Ah, the 1970s. A time when people didn’t care and music just went with the flow. It was a great time to be alive and as the decade of change took hold, the hair got big, the clothes got tight and the tunes just continued to keep hitting. And that is why the latest song pack to hit Rocksmith – the 70s Mix Song Pack V – should be one you need to consider.

Available right now for all budding guitarists rocking along with Rocksmith 2014 Edition or Rocksmith Remastered to consider purchasing is the latest ’70s Mix Song Pack V, with this being, as the name suggests the fifth of the decade. Priced up at £6.39, we see the following tunes included, with a bit from the Commodores, The Hollies and the funky Funkadelic playing out.

  • Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress) – The Hollies
  • Maggot Brain – Funkadelic
  • Brick House – Commodores

As always, each of these cracking tunes are also available for £2.39 each as well, so if you prefer the bass line of Brick House, as opposed to Funkadelic’s mad Maggot Brain, then the option is there for you to take.

It matters little whether you are learning guitar on the older Rocksmith 2014 Edition or Rocksmith Remastered either, as all you need is a console, a guitar, a copy of the game and a visit paid to an online digital store of your choice in order to see these tunes added to your library. We say the Xbox Store is the way to go, but many others will debate the pros of the PlayStation Store at the same time. Hey, as long as you get access to the content, that is all that matters.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition and Rocksmith Remastered are available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4, providing a bit of brilliant guitar tutoring to any prospective guitar fans out there. In fact, it bills itself as ‘the fastest way to learn guitar’ and after reviewing it, we very much agree with that statement. Gone are the days when you need to find a proper tutor in order to learn the finer details of guitar life, and with Rocksmith, you’ll be found pulling off the craziest of riffs in no time at all.

Make sure you check it out if you are serious about strumming, and don’t forget to let us know in the comments below which of the numerous DLC packs you have purchased. Does this latest Mix Song Pack V deliver, or do you need something a bit more up-to-date? Let us know!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
