Make some music with To Bee Jazz

We’ve seen Afil Games release puzzle games about cats, cubes, food, colours and just about everything else imaginable over the last couple of years. But jazz-playing bees? Yeah, that’s a new one.

Available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC, To Bee Jazz takes the familiar merge-puzzle formula and gives it a musical twist. Best of all, it’s another budget-friendly release, arriving at just ÂŁ4.19 across all three versions.

At A Glance

  • Game: To Bee Jazz
  • Developer: Afil Games
  • Publisher: Afil Games
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC
  • Price: ÂŁ4.19
  • Genre: Merge Puzzle

Building A Buzzing Big Band

To Bee Jazz follows a formula that many will recognise, especially those who would have recently played the likes of Zoo Orbs Safari. You see, small bees are dropped onto a crowded stage, and by combining matching musicians together you’ll create bigger, more elaborate performers. Keep merging and your tiny hive gradually transforms into a fully-fledged jazz ensemble packed with instruments, personality and increasingly limited space.

The challenge comes from managing that space. Every new bee takes up room, and if things become too cluttered you’ll quickly find yourself running out of options.

More Than Endless Merging

But To Bee Jazz isn’t content with offering a single endless mode. Campaign Mode introduces specific objectives and challenges, tasking players with creating particular bee musicians and solving increasingly complex scenarios. For those who prefer chasing high scores, Endless Mode lets the chaos continue for as long as your planning skills hold out.

A selection of power-ups can also help rescue a struggling run, allowing players to clear space, reorganise the board and keep the music playing a little longer.

Time To Join The Hive?

To Bee Jazz is available right now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC for ÂŁ4.19. It’s available in three different flavours too – optimised for Xbox Series X|S, playable on Xbox One, and for Windows PC.

If you’re looking for a relaxed puzzle game with a quirky theme and a low asking price, this latest Afil Games release could be worth a look. We’ll let you know how things go in full review.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
