Emoji Battlefield – Summer Vacation is on Xbox

What should have been a peaceful getaway quickly turns into something far more chaotic in Emoji Battlefield – Summer Vacation, now live on Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ4.19.

Yes, the beach is calling… but so are waves of bouncing, exploding, and downright ridiculous emojis.

This latest entry in the Emoji Battlefield series swaps serious firefights for sun-soaked madness, delivering a roguelike FPS that leans hard into its playful premise.

At A Glance

  • Game: Emoji Battlefield – Summer Vacation
  • Developer/Publisher: EpiXR Games
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S
  • Price: ÂŁ4.19
  • Game Type: Roguelike First-Person Shooter

A Holiday That Goes Very, Very Wrong

The setup is simple. You arrive expecting sun loungers and relaxation, only to find beaches, pools and resorts overrun by hostile emojis.

From the moment you step into your first arena, it becomes clear this is not going to be a calm break. Palm-lined coastlines and inflatable-filled pools turn into battle zones, complete with hazards that can catch you off guard just as much as the enemies themselves.

Explosive coolers, slippery slides and tight spaces all add to the unpredictability, keeping every run feeling a little different.

And before each run, you get to tweak the experience with a selection of modifiers. Want a tougher fight? Switch on Hard Mode. Fancy something sillier? Add summer hats or turn on Bouncy Mode and watch everything ricochet around the arena. It gives each run a slightly different flavour, depending on how chaotic or challenging you want things to be.

Survive, Upgrade, Repeat

Combat follows a familiar loop. Take down waves of emojis, collect glowing orbs, and pick upgrades that shape your build on the fly.

You might boost damage, speed up reloads or unlock new weapon drops mid-run. As the waves progress, enemies grow tougher and more unpredictable, forcing you to adapt quickly if you want to last.

Not The First Emoji Battlefield

This is not the first time we have seen emojis take to the battlefield. In fact, we previously covered Emoji Battlefield – Origins, scoring it a 2.5/5 and noting: “Emoji Battlefield – Origins delivers a simple premise… but lacks enough content to fully justify a purchase.”

Whether this one does enough to push the series forward is something players will quickly decide once the chaos kicks in.

A Light, Silly Shooter For Quick Sessions

At its core, Emoji Battlefield – Summer Vacation is not a deep, tactical shooter. It is fast, colourful, and intentionally a bit ridiculous. Perfect for short bursts of play, it leans into its humour and unpredictability, offering something a little different from more serious FPS titles.

Sun, sand and smiling faces might usually mean relaxation, but not here. In Emoji Battlefield – Summer Vacation, every wave brings more chaos, more bouncing madness, and more reasons to jump back in for another run.
