Endless runner I Hate Running Backwards shoots onto the Xbox One, PS4 and PC

-

Whether you do indeed hate running backwards, or forwards for that matter, the latest infinite runner, I Hate Running Backwards, has made its grand entrance on consoles and PC today, bringing with it a variety of recognisable heroes!

The adrenaline will be pumping in the fast-paced never-ending runner and shoot ’em up – or shoot ‘em down in this case – hybrid which sees the legendary Serious Sam and his pals get stuck in the mixed space-time continuum, needing to fight across different time periods in one single run. Joining Sam in I Hate Running Backwards are the likes of Shadow Warrior’s Lo Wang, Enter the Gungeon’s Bullet Kin, Hotline Miami’s Richard, and Nuclear Throne’s Crystal. Each of the special characters has their own unique ability to use on the battlefield too.

As it’s a roguelite experience, you’ll be able to earn perks and get stronger using your character of choice whilst blasting away enemies, eventually aiding in overcoming the challenging bosses. There’s also the option to play locally in co-op alongside a friend, causing even more destruction and mayhem as a devilish duo.

Should any of this tempt you in for a purchase, I Hate Running Backwards is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with Nintendo Switch owners needing to wait a bit longer. For us Xbox gamers, the Microsoft Store has us covered, where it’s currently priced at £11.99. Will you be joining Sam and co. for a darn crazy run?

Game Description:

Hate Running Backwards is a never-ending adrenaline packed shoot’em down roguelite that puts the emphasis on destruction and fighting never ending waves of enemies while time traveling through procedurally generated, fully destructible worlds! Pick your character and blast away enemies with a high powered arsenal of shotguns, lasers, rocket launchers, singularity cannons and other weapons! Get stronger by earning perks to decimate challenging bosses along the way. Sam and friends get stuck in mixed space-time continuum and have to battle the giant Ugh-Zan, this time reincarnated as a giant mech, and his armada of deadly monsters. The battle will take them across different time periods and environments – from Aztec jungles to the deserts of Egypt with a deadly boss awaiting at the end of each environment. Intense never-ending action will have you destroying wave after wave of enemies on your way to the final boss. You think you’re done when you do? Think again! The game loops and sends even tougher enemies at you. Lucky for you that the arsenal of weapons you pick up along the way is more than enough to help you deal with the threat.
