Escape rooms are well and truly all the rage amongst groups of friends, corporate bonding sessions, and to get people together over tricky puzzles and a shared love for The Crystal Maze. And Escape Academy takes things to the virtual scene with great aplomb, receiving top review scores, such as the 4/5 accredited by this very website! Now it’s time to jump back in to the world of escapology, with the Escape Academy: Escape from Anti-Escape Island DLC.Â
Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, Escape from Anti-Escape Island is pretty much more of the same colourful sets of escape rooms that had you pulling your hair out when the original Escape Academy game launched this summer. With five extra rooms to take on here – the first two of which we mentioned to be personal series favourites, in our recent review for this expansion – it’s safe to say that if you enjoyed training up as a professional escaper in Escape Academy, the chances are you’ll be well up for the extra goodies thrown into Escape from Anti-Escape Island.
Building upon the mechanics set down previously, where Escape from Anti-Escape Island differs is primarily in its solutions. Whilst most of the rooms you will have been used to solving required only finding a key – albeit with some incredibly intricate puzzles – some of the new rooms on offer will have more complex solutions. Think switch-flipping and Minesweeping to be on the menu to grant freedom.
Escape Academy: Escape from Anti-Escape Island is the first of two DLCs to launch for Escape Academy on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. It is available from the Xbox Store for £12.49, as part of the Season Pass for the game, which will grant you access to the second DLC when it plans to launch in the spring of next year. The individual purchase price of Escape from Anti-Escape Island is just £8.39.
