EVERSPACE Â is coming…and it’ll be initially found reaping the rewards of not just the Steam Early Access program, but also our Xbox One Game Preview.
Arriving on both systems come September 14th 2016 (along with dropping on GOG’s Games in Development program), EVERSPACE, from ROCKFISH Games (yep, they love their capital letters) is a rogue-like space shooter running on the Unreal Engine 4.
EVERSPACE is the most funded German video game on Kickstarter and will be the very first title arriving on Xbox Preview Program on Windows 10 and will support the Xbox Play Anywhere feature allowing for cross-saves and buy once, play anywhere.
“We are very excited to kick-off the Xbox Preview Program for Windows 10 with the highly anticipated roguelike space shooter EVERSPACE,” said Chris Charla, Director ID@Xbox at Microsoft. “With its fast-paced gameplay and its stunning visuals it plays great on PC and Xbox One, making it a perfect game for Xbox Play Anywhere.”
“As one of the most engaged teams in the Unreal Engine community, ROCKFISH Games are dedicated to making EVERSPACE great,” said Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager at Epic Games. “We recently awarded the studio an Unreal Dev Grant and the game appears to be set up for a fantastic Early Access launch.”
With its arrival on Preview, you can obviously expect the game to be constantly updated as things go. Initially, for launch, a challenging showdown will be added to the final sector, which players can try to conquer after they have beaten the first six sectors. Then later this year, two additional player ships with individual characteristics and different starting gear will be added, as well.
We’re looking at a Q1 2017 full release for EVERSPACE and it should eventually feature a fully voice-acted non-linear story with several thoughtfully designed characters and situation-based events, as well as a Hardcore Mode and full VR support for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
EVERSPACE will launch for $29.99 / €27.99 / £22.99 in Preview, before dropping in with a $39.99 / €36.99 / £29.99 price point when it is time to hit its full release.
