War doesn’t usually come with second chances, but Every Day We Fight is built entirely around them.
Now available in Game Preview on PC and handheld (you know, that good old ROG Ally X) through the Xbox Store, this evolving project introduces a mix of turn-based tactics, real-time exploration, and roguelite progression, all wrapped inside a time loop that refuses to let the fight end.
It’s not a finished product yet, and that’s important to keep in mind. What’s here is a foundation, one that already shows plenty of promise while still leaving room to grow. You should also keep in mind that, currently, this is not playable on Xbox consoles. It’s Xbox PC, no more, no less.

A War That Refuses To Move Forward
The premise sets the tone immediately. Time has stopped for the world, frozen in place as an alien force known as the Rifters begins harvesting what remains. Only a small group of civilians are unaffected, and even they aren’t free. Each time they fall in battle, the loop resets.
It’s a setup that feeds directly into the gameplay. Progress doesn’t come from a single successful run, but from what you carry forward each time you fail. Skills, knowledge, and equipment begin to stack up, gradually turning ordinary people into something much more capable.
Blending Exploration With Tactical Combat
Every Day We Fight doesn’t lock you into one style of play. Instead, it shifts between real-time exploration and more deliberate, turn-based encounters.
Before a fight even begins, you’ll be scouting, sneaking, and setting up your approach. Once combat kicks in, it becomes a more measured experience where positioning, timing, and awareness play a major role.
There’s a hands-on feel to it too. Shots aren’t just calculated behind the scenes. You’re actively aiming, taking into account angles, movement, and cover. It gives each encounter a slightly more immediate edge than traditional tactics games.
Learning Through Failure
The time loop structure isn’t just a narrative hook, it shapes everything about how you play.
Each run offers something new, whether that’s improved gear, better positioning knowledge, or upgraded abilities. Even when things go wrong, there’s a sense that you’re building towards something.
Exploration ties into that as well. Discovering weapon stashes or hidden equipment in one loop means starting stronger in the next. It creates a steady cycle of experimentation, risk, and gradual improvement.
Early Days, But Full Of Potential?
As a Game Preview title, Every Day We Fight is still finding its final shape. Systems may evolve, content may expand, and balance will likely shift over time. This is far from the final product.
What’s already here, though, seems like a strong foundation. The blend of tactical decision-making, roguelite progression, and time loop storytelling gives it a clear identity, even in its current state.
For players willing to jump in early, there’s a lot to engage with already, especially with a free trial available to test the waters. Point your weapons at the Xbox Store and pull the trigger…
