The art of puzzle-solving has been given a literal new canvas in a charming and relaxing new game that has just been painted onto Xbox, PlayStation and PC – Paint Path.
In Paint Path you control a walking canvas, with this clever new creation from the incredibly prolific Afil Games is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, and PC, with prices starting at just £4.19.
Prepare to rotate and swap tiles, organize paint buckets, and ensure your canvas passes by the painters with the correct colour in a cozy and artistic experience where every single step is a brushstroke.
A Journey Through the Art World
Your adventure in Paint Path takes you through 30 handcrafted levels, from a humble studio to a grand museum.
Your journey begins in the Art Studio, where you will learn the basics of painting and the game’s unique colour logic.
But once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, the challenge moves to the Art Museum. Here, you will be introduced to new mechanics like multiple canvases and tricky tri-split tiles that will demand even more creative strategies to solve.
A Symphony of Swaps and Swatches
The mechanics of Paint Path are easy to learn but full of possibilities. You will need to rotate and swap hexagonal tiles to build a safe path for your walking canvas to reach a series of painters. The catch is that you must pass each painter with the correct colour.
The colour system is the key to your success. You will need to mix the primary colours of yellow, blue, and red to create new shades, clean your canvas with white, or combine all three to create black. If you miss the correct sequence, the painting fails, and the level is lost.
A Trio of Puzzling Masterpieces
For puzzle fans looking for a great value deal, the Paint Path + Little Helper Cafe + Dragon Snack (Bundle) will be available soon. This combines all three versions of Paint Path with all the versions of two other Afil Games puzzlers.
We’re familiar with both of those titles. We previously saw that you could beat the latest Sokoban puzzler when Little Helper Cafe released on Xbox. We also took on the challenge of the path-building Dragon Snack, which we gave a 3.5/5 score, stating that while it “won’t set the world alight,” it is a “fun way to boost your Gamerscore on the cheap.”
This new bundle is a perfect opportunity to grab three very different, but equally clever, puzzle games at once.
Your Artistic Checklist
Here’s what you can expect from this new path-building puzzler:
- Unique “Walking Canvas” Puzzles: Rotate and swap tiles to build the perfect path.
- A Deep Colour-Mixing System: Mix primary colours to create new shades and solve puzzles.
- 30 Handcrafted Levels across two unique settings: the Art Studio and the Art Museum.
