2026's Best Games

Digimon Survive Xbox

Videogame delays are nothing new. Some games struggle with delays more than others and get pushed out multiple times. These delays can be seen as a positive though, as they help drum up excitement. They can also lead people to believe that a game will ever release. This next game suffered a bit of both. But I am pleased to report it is final here. Digimon Survive is out today on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Announced back in 2018, Digimon Survive fuses a few genres together for a decidedly darker Digimon title. With elements of visual novel, survival and tactical RPG games, Digimon Survive is an amalgamation of all three. You play as Takuma Momozuka who is transported to the digital world after getting lost on a school trip. You will have complete control over their actions: decide how their Digimon evolve, who and how they bond with the other NPCs and much more.

Digimon Survive is a mysterious world full of dangerous battles. Sometime the battles won’t be with other Digimon either, as you maintain relationships with other members of your school trip. Difficult decisions will need to be made regardless, however.

When the battles do involve your Digimon the action switches to a turn-based tactical affair. Check out the launch trailer for a glimpse of what to expect:

Digimon Survive also features:

  • A Rich Visual Novel Experience – Unfold a dark tale about friendship and survival that is jam-packed with exciting drama, a unique cast of characters, and potentially grim choices.
  • A Mysterious World – Explore otherworldly areas filled with hidden secrets and Digimon to recruit.
  • The Power is Yours – Your choices affect gameplay: you bond with other NPCs, your Digimon’s evolution, and the outcome of your adventure.
  • Thrilling and Strategic Gameplay – Persuade your opponents to join your team and evolve them to fight alongside you in thrilling turn-based battles.

Digimon Survive is on the Xbox Store now priced at ÂŁ39.99. Available as the Month 1 Edition, it also includes Guilmon as an extra Digimon and HP Support Equipment, but only until 30th August. So, you may want to be quick if you want a helping hand. Our review will be arriving soon to help you make an informed decision too.

Digimon games are few and far between on Xbox, but this one looks to be a special one, with the last one being Digimon All-Star Rumble in 2014. Let us know in the comments below if you are picking this one up.
