The next major installment in the world’s premier train simulation series has just pulled into the platform a full five days early for dedicated fans.
The next chapter in the iconic series, Train Sim World 6, is available to play right now for those who purchase the Deluxe or Special Editions. This brand-new journey is now live on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, and PC.
Prepare for a host of new features designed to make no two services ever feel the same, including the much-requested Random Events system. The Standard Edition (£44.99) will launch on September 30th, but you can climb aboard today.
Expect the Unexpected: What’s New in the 2026 Timetable?
This year’s entry is all about adding a new layer of unpredictability and immersion to the authentic simulation experience.
For the first time, you can now toggle random events and train faults to ensure that no two journeys are ever the same. From signal delays that will test your patience to sudden speed restrictions that will challenge your skill, you must stay alert to overcome these unpredictable challenges.
Adding to the immersion is the full implementation of passenger and platform announcements. You will now hear station stops and train departures audibly declared across the three new core routes, bringing the world to life like never before.
Three New Routes to Master
Train Sim World 6 arrives with three brand-new, highly requested routes for you to master:
- Riviera Line (UK): Traverse the iconic Dawlish Sea Wall and tackle the Devon Banks in the GWR Class 802 & Class 150/2.
- Bahnstrecke Leipzig – Dresden (Germany): Go beyond the boundaries of Nahverkehr Dresden in the DB BR 411 ICE-T and more.
- Morristown Line (USA): March across the Morris & Essex County suburbs to the commuter town of Dover in the NJ TRANSIT® Arrow III and ALP-46.
Our Verdict on the Last Journey
The Train Sim World series has a high bar to clear, and we were huge fans of last year’s entry. In our glowing 4/5 review of Train Sim World 5, we said: “There is no denying that Dovetail Games are the masters of this genre, and even though some will question whether we need a new game quite so often, I feel they do continue to improve the franchise with every step.”
Train Sim World 6 looks set to continue that forward momentum.

It was back in August that we first got wind of the new title when we reported that Train Sim World 6 had been announced with Random Events and a September release date. Now, that day has finally arrived for early access players.

- Special Edition (£104.99): Playable NOW with 5-day early access. Includes all Deluxe Edition content plus five additional back-catalogue routes and their trains, spanning countries like the Netherlands, Austria, and Wales.
