Resident Evil 7 biohazard may have been with us for some time now, but that doesn’t mean the experience has grown any easier to stomach. Nevertheless, the adventures into the Baker family home proved to be a big hit with fans and with many of us clamouring for more from this year’s survival horror masterpiece, today Capcom have delivered with several new DLC arrivals available – of both the paid and free variety.
The first of the new arrivals brings the End of Zoe DLC. This new expanded story puts players in the shoes of a previously unseen member of the Baker family for the first time on an all new adventure, as you dive in to fight hand-to-hand with the horrifying creatures that lay within the swamps surrounding the Baker family estate.
In this additional content, players will finally get to play witness to the events of Zoe’s ultimate fate and see how the tragedy affected the Baker family residents.
Those hoping to get in on the End of Zoe DLC can do so now for the price of £11.99, meanwhile owners of the Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, Resident Evil 7 Deluxe Edition or Resident Evil 7 Season Pass will find the content included and available to download now.
The next of the new arrivals comes in the form of some new antique coins. Coins within Resident Evil 7 are used as a currency option to unlock various items within the game with 18 coins found throughout the Easy and Normal difficulties and 33 within the challenging Madhouse Difficulty.
The new content brings five separate coins, all of which bring a new ability, with each one also unlocking the game’s Madhouse difficulty from the start. Each of the following new coins can be purchased individually for the price of £0.39, alternatively players can grab all of them in one bundle in the 5-Coin Set & Madhouse Mode Unlock for the price of £1.59. The individual coins are as follows: –
- Universal Coin – Keeping this Coin in your inventory will result in a slight boost to attack, defence and knockback rates. Holding multiple Coins increases the effect.
- Instinct Coin – This Coin provides a slight increase to the knockback rates.
- Attack Coin – The Attack Coin proves a slight increase to the attack rates.
- Defence Coin – The Defence Coin provides a slight boost to the defence of the protagonist.
- Reload Coin – The Reload Coin gives a slight boost to reload speeds in the game.
Each of the coins can be used within the main game and in the new DLC and final addition – Not a Hero.
The Resident Evil 7 Not a Hero DLC sees series mainstay and longtime BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) hero Chris Redfield make a return in an additional free episode for the game. In this players must face all new enemies and avoid some truly cruel and destructive traps in place. To survive, Chris must use his well-honed skills in military marksmanship and melee fighting as he attempts to secure the target and uncover the truth behind the Baker family incident.
Those wanting to jump in to the Resident Evil 7 Not a Hero DLC can do so now by heading over to the Microsoft Store and grabbing a free download.
All of the new content available today can be found on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
