Run, Climb And Somehow Survive
Blood Dungeon comes from Messhof, the studio behind Nidhogg, and it looks to put movement at the centre of everything.
This isn’t simply about standing your ground and blasting away. You’ll be scrambling around arenas, climbing walls and chains, using ladders and platforms, and even taking to watery depths as you try to stay one step ahead of increasingly dangerous hordes.
The dungeons are home to more than 100 enemy types, all behaving in their own ways. Some fly, some bounce, some cling to surfaces, and some apparently explode. Learning how to move around them – and when to get out of the way – will be a major part of surviving each run.
Gather Blood, Build Power
As enemies fall, you’ll collect blood to increase your power and shape your build. Chests hidden around the arenas can provide further boosts, while successful runs earn bones that can be spent on permanent upgrades.
There’s also the wonderfully named Dogmancer, who will happily take those bones in exchange for making future dungeon runs a little more manageable.
With over 100 weapons and upgrades, as well as more than 100 quests to complete, there’s plenty here beyond simply seeing how long you can avoid becoming another stain on the dungeon floor.
Nine Characters And Six Arenas To Unlock
Blood Dungeon will feature nine unlockable playable characters, each bringing their own weapons, traits and movement abilities.
That includes characters capable of spinning climbable webs, taking to the air or simply moving through the dungeon at ridiculous speed. Experimenting with different characters should add another layer to the roguelike structure as you unlock new ways to approach each run.
There are also six unique survival arenas to unlock, alongside skins, upgrades and other rewards for those willing to keep battling through the carnage.

Blood Dungeon is shaping up to be a fast, frantic and very different kind of survival game, mixing the escalating chaos of a bullet heaven with proper 2D platforming movement.
