If your creation has been inspired by the likes of the stunning The Legend of Zelda, the super-addictive Stardew Valley, or the massive lands of Minecraft, then you’ve got a lot to live up to. Thankfully, with Forager rolling out on to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC via the Xbox Game Pass, there is little reason to not give it a whirl.

Previously available on Steam, Forager makes the transition to Xbox One and Win10 via the Xbox Game Pass route, ensuring that millions of gamers with a Game Pass subscription can give it a run out for little outlay. Of course, it’s also available for those without Game Pass, with a £16.74 price tag in place.

Forager is sold on the back of being an open world adventure title, one in which you get the chance to drop into a wonderfully intriguing world before going about your business. What you get up to in Forager is pretty much dictated by your own decisions, allowing the opportunity to go resource collecting, picking up a variety of items, and then using your collections to build a home base from nothing.

Levelling up is an ever-present here too, opening up new skills and abilities as progress is made. And that progress will only come about by your desire to explore – there are plenty of secrets to track down, puzzles to complete and dungeons to raid in Forager.  In fact, much like those games which have inspired it, Forager is open to however you see fit. All you need to do is set your goals and run with it.

As always we’ll have a full review coming your way pretty soon, and it should be able to divulge a few secrets and whether or not Forager is worthy of your time. In the meantime though, if you wish to pick it up – either for free via Xbox Game Pass or by paying the asking price – the Xbox Store will sort you out. Don’t forget, it’s also available on Win10 and Steam too.

Game Description:

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
