We saw quite a few good point-and-click adventures in 2020, and hoping to continue the trend are developers Fireart Games with the delightful looking TOHU. To discover if it does so, we’ll have to venture into a world full of weird and wonderful fish planets on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and PC.
The main protagonist of TOHU, known only as ‘The Girl’, is on a quest to repair the Sacred Engine after an unknown assailant damaged it. This little girl that really needs your help, but that doesn’t mean she’s of no use in this adventure – far from it, in fact; she’s nimble enough to climb and can carry items in a rucksack, which is the very least you’ll need to succeed. You’ll also be able to switch characters on the fly to The Girl’s robotic buddy Cubus, who comes in handy for heavy-lifting and strength-related tasks.
While exploring the eye-catching and atmospheric locations, expect to encounter a variety of interesting characters and come across a selection of puzzles set to pose a number of different challenges. One minute you could be catching critters for illumination purposes, and the next reconnecting a bunch of pipes.
Should the idea of traversing the beautiful looking hand-drawn world of TOHU, while solving puzzles galore, sound enticing, then you’ll need to pay the sum of £11.99 over at the Xbox Store – or £10.79 thanks to a discount in place for ten days post-launch. Of course, it’s also available via the digital stores belonging to the other aforementioned platforms. If you’re unsure about making a purchase, feel free to wait for our upcoming review to fill you in and deliver the verdict as to whether it’s any good!
