Want to go deeper into the League of Legends universe than ever before? Riot Forge have you sorted with the release of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store), Ruined King: A League of Legends Story has pretty much popped up from out of nowhere, giving fans of the League of Legends franchise the chance to take in more lore than ever before.

It’s priced at £24.99 from the Xbox Store for the Standard Edition, yet is accompanied by a Deluxe Edition for an extra tenner, with this including a Starter Pack, Weapon Pack and various Skin Variants.

But what is Ruined King: A League of Legends Story? Well, it gives you the opportunity to rise up against ruin as you join a party of the most iconic League of Legends Champions in a new adventure which will have you exploring Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles. From there, your task is to uncover the hidden secrets of the Black Mist. No pressure.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story works as an introduction to the whole LoL universe so whether you are a veteran of the scene or coming in green on the understanding that you wish to learn more, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story should well sort you out.

It runs a turn-based RPG style, and that means party management and configuration is sure to be at the heart of the matter. With the Airship Syndicate team having created Ruined King: A League of Legends Story and Riot Forge rolling on publishing, this is one that seems highly intriguing.

The key features of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story include:

  • An introduction to Runeterra: Start exploring the rich lore of League of Legends and the extraordinary stories of the Champions.
  • Build your own party: Forge different strategies by configuring your party of champions and combining new abilities.
  • Experience the Lane Initiative System: Choose your approach for each enemy encounter and change the course of the battle by tweaking the speed of your actions, reacting to environmental events or modifying the effects of your abilities.

Sold? You’ll be able to pick up the game from the usual digital stores. Find it at the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, along with options for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

There are also some DLC pieces to accompany the launch, namely those which are included in the Deluxe Edition, just available separately. Expect to grab the Ruination Starter Pack (£4.00), Lost & Found Weapon Pack (£2.50) and the Ruined Skin Variant Pack (£4.00) if you’re taken by the base game.

Let us know if you decide to pick it up.

Game Description:
