The summer of 2017 saw the announcement of Extinction. Now, in the winter of 2018, we have a release date. And we won’t have to wait too long at all.

Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC, you’ll need to prepare to save humanity from the Ravenii on April 10th 2018.

Iron Galaxy and Modus Games have today confirmed that to be the date in which we get to take on the role of Avil, the last of the legendary Sentinels, and the only one capable of toppling the Ravenii. In fact, it is he that is all that stands between the towering ogres and the survival of the human race.

With insane skill-based combat at the forefront of the action, you’ll have to traverse the environment with precision while executing devastating attacks on your enemies, all whilst using your whip to launch Avil into the air while dispatching a full-scale assault on the monstrous beasts. Basically though, you’ll be left to annihilate all that stands between you and rescuing the people of Dolorum from extinction.

Depending on where in the world you are, pre-orders are now open for the standard ($59.99) and deluxe ($69.99) editions, with the latter including the ‘Days of Dolorum’ season pass. Digital pre-orders will be available in early February with you being able to purchase the season pass at a later date too.

Should you wish to pre-order either version of Extinction, you will receive the following DLC included:

  • Best Buy – “Short Fuse” trial: Get rewarded when you complete unique objectives in this bonus trial.
  • GameStop – Two exclusive trials titled “Last Legs” and “Heads, You Win”: Work against the clock as you hone your ogre-slaying skills.
  • PlayStation®Store – “Double Trouble” trial: Save humanity before it’s too late in this bonus trial that will test every aspect of your strength, speed, and skill.
  • Microsoft Store – “Brightsteel City” trial: This bonus trial will challenge even the most skillful Sentinel.

Keep an eye out for when Extinction hits Xbox One, PS4 and PC come 10th April 2018.
