The chequered flag is preparing to fall on the real-world season, but the action is just getting started on the virtual grid as EA and Codemasters launch Season 4 of live service content for F1 25.
This brand-new season introduces a thrilling, quick-fire elimination mode called Survival Challenge, and adds a huge drop of new cosmetic rewards, including some of the most iconic special liveries from the 2025 F1 season.
This free update, available right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, also brings the latest official Driver Ratings refresh and a new Podium Pass, keeping the game perfectly in sync with the real-world sport.
A New Way to Race: Survival Challenge
Following on from the Haas 10th-anniversary celebrations in Season 3, this new season brings a brand-new, high-stakes way to play. Survival Challenge is a new limited-time game mode available directly from the main menu, offering a quick-fire, instant-action multiplayer experience.
How It Works
- The Sprint: You’ll battle it out against four other players in a fast-paced, two-minute race.
- Elimination: When the timer hits zero, the car in last place is knocked out. This continues periodically until only one driver is left to claim victory.
- Pure Action: With DRS available from Lap 1 and no collisions on the first lap, you can expect chaotic, high-speed starts on a selection of the calendar’s most popular tracks.
Unlock Iconic Liveries and Helmets
As you compete in Survival Challenge, you’ll earn Survival Tokens. These tokens, which cannot be purchased and must be earned, can be exchanged in the new Event Catalogue for some of the year’s most eye-catching real-world designs. This is your chance to finally unlock:
- Ferrari’s iconic Monza livery
- The special-edition Red Bull in Japan
- Sauber’s Miami livery
- The “Orange Lion” Max Verstappen helmet
- George Russell’s vibrant pink Miami lid
- …and many more!
The Event Catalogue will be split into two parts (Part 1 from Nov 12 – Dec 10, Part 2 from Dec 17 – Jan 7), so be sure to spend your tokens before they’re gone!
Grid Shake-Up: Driver Ratings & Roster Update
As always, a new season brings a refreshed set of Driver Ratings, with the latest update analysing real-world performances from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix through to Mexico.
- Carlos Sainz: After a string of bad luck, Sainz’s fortunes have flipped. His P3 finish in Baku, securing Williams’ first full-points podium since 2017, has seen his Overall Rating climb back to 85.
- Ollie Bearman: The Haas rookie has breached an 80 Overall Rating for the first time, thanks to a remarkable P4 finish in Mexico that saw his Racecraft and Pace stats jump by three points each.
- Oscar Piastri: The pressure of the championship chase has taken its toll. After failing to score a podium in the last four races, his Overall Rating has dropped by one point due to hits on his Awareness and Pace.
And in a key roster update, Argentinian driver Franco Colapinto will now line up alongside Pierre Gasly at Alpine. This change will apply to all new Career saves.
Podium Pass and a Free Gift
A new Podium Pass is also live for Season 4, with 50 new tiers of exclusive rewards available across both the free and VIP tiers. But more excitedly, keep an eye on your in-game inbox in early December for a free gift to all players.
The final chapter of the F1 25 season is here, and it’s bringing one of the most exciting new modes to date. With a chaotic elimination mode to master and the chance to finally earn those stunning special liveries, there has never been a better time to go lights out.
Season 4 is live today in F1 25 – make sure you have a copy of the game, whether that be on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. You’ll find more info over on the official F1 25 blog.
