The world as you know it has been corrupted and you’re going to have to run a gauntlet of challenging trials if order is to be restored. That’s your aim in ADVERSE, a first-person shooter platformer out now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Can you overcome adversity and succeed?
The once idyllic environments of ADVERSE are effectively full of death traps since robots took over. These robots are hell-bent on firing lasers at you, which can be just as off-putting as they are deadly. Fortunately, alongside the fluid movement in place to try and avoid incoming attacks, you’re equipped with a bow and arrow to aid in defeating the pesky AI. Multitasking is at the forefront of the action as you navigate moving platforms and take down the robots, while avoiding certain death via a fall from a great height.
With more than 40 picturesque levels, spanning eight unique settings, you’ll need to run, jump, and shoot your way to reach the end as you traverse platforms, which take you through the forest and across the roaring seas. It is not going to be easy, but honing your skills and plenty of repetition is the key to progression in these trials.
“This project is one that I am incredibly excited to launch. Utilising everything that I learnt from my previous projects, whether that be from community feedback or from replaying them myself to build something greater and larger scale. Seeing the release version running flawlessly on Xbox, Nintendo and PC is a dream come true.” – said developers Loneminded.
