Arctic Awakening – out now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

The long-awaited, first-person narrative thriller that promises to upend everything you know has finally emerged from the ice – Arctic Awakening.

Arctic Awakening, the debut title from developer and publisher GoldFire Studios, has launched today, 18th September 2025. This stunning and mysterious new adventure is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Mac for ÂŁ20.99.

Prepare to brave the cutting cold, explore vast and veiled landscapes, and uncover the dark secrets that lie buried beneath the snow in a game where your only companion is a court-mandated therapy bot.

Lost in the Wilderness

In Arctic Awakening, you are Kai, a pilot who was on a routine supply drop to an Alaskan town with his co-pilot, Donovan. Suddenly, a catastrophic storm hits, and your plane is torn in two. Waking from the crash, you find yourself alone, trapped in a frozen wilderness. Your only hope for survival lies in finding your friend and, maybe, a way back home.

A Journey of Choices and Consequences

This is a game driven by its story. You will need to explore the vast landscapes and the veiled, sci-fi-inspired structures you find deep within them. As you search for your co-pilot, you’ll begin to uncover the secrets and mysteries beneath the snow and ice, including what it was that cut your plane clean in two… and what is making those strange noises after dark.

You are not entirely alone. Your only companion is your unwanted, court-mandated therapy bot, Alfie. You’ll need to embrace this newfound survival partnership, and the choices you make will affect the relationship you build with him, which in turn will affect his decisions and perhaps even Kai’s story itself.

From a Stellar Cast and Crew

This narrative adventure is brought to life by some incredible talent. The game features full voice acting, with Voice Director Julian Kwasneski (who has worked on classics like Firewatch and many Telltale and LucasArts titles) leading a stellar cast that includes Jason Maniccia, Alejandro Saab, and Mara Junot.

This is a title that has been on our radar for a very long time. It was way back in 2022 that we first got a glimpse of this chilling adventure when we reported on the new story trailer that emerged for Arctic Awakening.

Now, after years of waiting, that mysterious journey is finally here for all to experience. And our full review is just around the corner.

Arctic Awakening Description

Arctic Awakening is a first-person narrative adventure set in the mysterious Arctic North where you and your robotic companion, Alfie, must search for your co-pilot and uncover the mysteries waiting around every turn. It was supposed to be routine. A supply drop to an Alaskan town, auto-pilot on, guard down. You and Donovan were already planning post mission drinks when it happened.
