You could spend your time wasting hours in the intense gaming battlefields that are available, or you could jump behind the wheel of a racer and run lap after lap, shaving milliseconds off your bests. Or you could go and purchase Paradise Marsh and drop into the wonderful world it holds for a few hours, catching frogs and restoring the stars as you go.
Available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) players to enjoy is the short, rather contemplative affair that is Paradise Marsh.Â
It’s been put together by Étienne Trudeau as his debut game as you wander the wetlands with a trusty bug net in hope of finding a way to replenish the night sky.
A game to ‘experience’ more than anything else, Paradise Marsh should keep you busy for an evening, as you go about creature capturing, try and populate the sky with stars, pick wild flowers and take in long lost poems. There’s a cast of pretty intriguing characters to meet along the way too.
When you consider that Paradise Marsh is powered by a sound design put together by Disasterpeace (previously behind FEZ, Hyper Light Drifter and more) and it gets all the more interesting.
Key features include:
- Explore unique and harmonious biomes in an endless procedurally generated wetland
- Catch small creatures with your net and document your findings in your adventure journal
- Restore fallen stars in the empty night sky and interact with intriguing and colorful characters
- Collect long lost poems floating adrift
- Take your time to enjoy nature, eat wild berries, skip stones on water or sit on a nice soggy log for as long as you like…
- Beautiful Sound Design by Disasterpeace! (FEZ, Hyper Light Drifter, It Follows)
Our full review of Paradise Marsh is on the way and we’ll be sure to let you know whether it is worth the £8.39 asking price or not. If you can’t wait until then, it may well be worth taking a punt by visiting the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised for Xbox Series X), the Nintendo eShop for Switch or the Steam page if you’re preferring the PC gaming world.
