Before She Became The Evertree Farmer
Farming Camp takes players back to the teenage years of Alessandra, before she became the renowned Evertree Farmer.
Her destination is Evertree Farming Camp, where the usual teenage concerns of friendship and fitting in are joined by considerably more agricultural responsibilities. The aim is to learn the ropes, keep the camp running and prove that Alessandra has what it takes to become the next great farmer.
That means there are crops and chores to worry about, but Farming Camp isn’t simply about staring at a field and waiting for something to grow.
Farming Is Better With Friends
Alessandra isn’t tackling camp life alone. Two other budding farmers join her, each bringing their own personalities, talents and ways of doing things.
You’ll need to assign chores, solve problems and work together to keep everything ticking along, while building friendships with your fellow campers and getting to know the wider cast of teenage characters.
There’s also a competition running through camp life. Completing chores, maintaining the camp, attending classes and tackling missions all contribute towards earning points and climbing towards the top of the farming rankings.
So yes, even relaxing farm life comes with a leaderboard.
When The Crops Aren’t Causing Trouble
The farming itself is only part of the summer. Farming Camp also throws a collection of quick minigames into the mix, helping break up the daily routine with activities that range from eliminating pests against the clock to chopping wood and cooking meals.
There are also plenty of lighter moments away from the work, with the developers promising dramas, surprises and a few messy moments among the cast.
Presented through a hand-drawn 2D top-down world, the adventure is designed as a cosy story-driven experience with around 15-20 hours of gameplay.
A Different Kind Of Summer Holiday
Farming Camp isn’t trying to turn agriculture into a hardcore management exercise. Instead, it takes the familiar appeal of farm games and wraps it around a coming-of-age story about friendships, competition and discovering what it means to become an Evertree Farmer.
With Alessandra’s earlier years now open to explore, Farming Camp provides a chance to see where her farming journey began – and perhaps discover that becoming the best farmer at camp requires considerably more than simply having a green thumb.
You’ll find Farming Camp on the usual storefronts for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC. We’ll send you the way of the Xbox Store.
