Fatal Fury City of the Wolves – out now!

Get ready to brawl! After an agonizing 26-year wait since Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the legendary fighting game series returns with FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is available to play right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, thanks to the 3-day early access granted by its Special Edition release.

Developed and published by the fighting game maestros at SNK CORPORATION, City of the Wolves reignites the Fatal Fury franchise that spearheaded the 90s fighting game boom.

Available only as the Special Edition (priced at ÂŁ47.16), this new entry introduces groundbreaking mechanics, stunning visuals, and a mix of returning legends and new challengers ready to battle on the streets of South Town.

Feel the RUSH: Introducing the REV System

Headlining the new gameplay features is the REV System. This brand-new toolset supercharges the action from the moment the bell rings, offering unique offensive options:

  • REV Arts: Powerful special moves.
  • REV Accel: Likely speed boosts or forward-advancing attacks.
  • REV Blows: Devastating strikes available during S.P.G. (Specific mechanic details TBC).

Push the REV System to its limits until the REV Meter overheats, adding a thrilling layer of resource management to the high-octane fights.

New Blood Meets Old School + RPG Action

City of the Wolves launches with a diverse 17-character base roster, featuring familiar faces and intriguing newcomers, all presented in a vibrant, unique art style. This roster expands immediately with Season Pass 1 (included only in the currently available Special Edition), adding five more fighters over the next year:

  • Andy Bogard (Summer 2025)
  • Ken (Summer 2025)
  • Joe Higashi (Fall 2025)
  • Chun-Li (Winter 2025)
  • Mr. Big (Early 2026)

Beyond the standard versus modes, SNK introduces “Episodes of South Town” (EOST) – a single-player RPG adventure. Battle opponents under various conditions, earn XP, level up your chosen fighter, unlock diverse skills, and dominate the competition to claim the crown of South Town.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Description

SNK’s beloved Fatal Fury series first hit the market in 1991, spearheading the fighting game boom of the 1990s that swept the industry thereafter. GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES (released in 1999) has, for some time, served as the franchise’s most recent installment. But that is all about to change: 26 years on, a brand-new entry—FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves—is set to arrive on the scene!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
