It’s well known that the games found in The Dark Pictures Anthology are already full of intrigue, interest, immersion and horror. Now though the two openers in that series are being treated to some new goodies, with new-gen optimisation at the top of the agenda.

Rolling out as a free update to the two The Dark Pictures Anthology titles of Man of Medan and Little Hope on Xbox, PlayStation and PC come several new aspects and features that should ensure that high level of immersion already found in the games is intensified even more.

It builds on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions with full new-gen optimisation, meaning that you now get to play Man of Medan and Little Hope in the best possible way, making the most of the power of the newest systems on the market.

That pretty much means it’s the perfect time to get playing Man of Medan and Little Hope, especially when you consider that the same free update adds in new difficulty settings, improved UI, increased walking speeds and more. As follows…

  • New difficulty settings & QTE warnings,
  • Improved UI & interactions,
  • Updated bearing art & event triggers,
  • Increased walking speeds,
  • More accessibility options, including subtitle sizing,
  • Additional Bonus for Man of Medan: discover a previously unseen chapter called “Flooded”, introducing new gameplay and new deaths to the climatic ending of the game.

You’ll find both Man of Medan and Little Hope available on the usual digital stores, with the Xbox Store giving access to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the games.

The Dark Pictures Anthology will see the finale to Season One arriving on November 18th 2022 as The Devil in Me releases.

Let us know in the comments if the new new-gen optimised versions will tempt you in to either Man of Medan or Little Hope.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
