After running a successful Kickstarter campaign, The Last Stand: Aftermath brings some new roguelite zombie survival action to Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The question is, do you have what it takes to to fight alone, all in order to survive together…?

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC – and yep, there’s no Xbox One love here – The Last Stand: Aftermath from Con Artist Games and Armor Games Studios is a new action-adventure roguelite in which you’re tasked with fighting back against a full-on zombie apocalypse.

Throwing you into the shoes of a lone survivor, your task is to kill zombies and gain knowledge, helping a small colony survive against all the odds. Gathering up supplies and hunting for the truth behind the zombie virus are both key elements to your survival chances, as you leave the safe confines of your compound and go out hunting.

The problem is, at some point you’re going to succumb to the undead masses. But in Aftermath, you’ll re-emerge as a new character, keeping anything previously gathered and left to enjoy new perks and upgrades in the process.

It’s this constant loop that is home to the heart of The Last Stand: Aftermath. Death might be inevitable, but that just means you’ll need to make the most of the time you have on this land…

“We’re excited to bring this new chapter in The Last Stand series to everyone. Moving into the roguelite genre and blending it with the long standing Last Stand zombie lore has been an amazing experience and one that we’re sure people will enjoy.” said Chris Condon, creative director at Con Artist Games.

If you’re up for rummaging through the undead, and reckon that roguelite loop of Aftermath is one you can cope with, you’ll find a download of The Last Stand: Aftermath present and correct from the usual digital stores. It’s on PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam, but Xbox owners will need to be fully next-gen compliant as this will only work on Xbox Series X|S. The download you need is from the Xbox Store. It’ll cost you £20.99.

It’s a game you should be checking out too. Our full review of The Last Stand: Aftermath on Xbox Series X|S is live and well worth a read.

Game Description:

The latest from veteran developer Con Artist Games, creators of The Last Stand series of games, The Last Stand: Aftermath is an all new, premium singleplayer standalone action adventure rogue-lite. Choose a survivor to set forth and explore the ruins of civilization, finding fuel to travel to new locations and gathering supplies to craft weapons and more. You’ll need to stay on your toes, since hordes of zombies still roam the streets, and you’re no superhuman. In fact, you’re one of the infected yourself, and eventually you’ll die, be it from the hostile undead or the virus rampaging through your body. But when that happens, you’ll pick up the game again as a new survivor, with perks and upgrades earned based on your progress from the last, and set out to try again.
