Fight your way out of the Rising Hell

-

rising hell release

There’s no getting away from the fact that roguelites and roguelikes are pretty much two-a-penny. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t ever room for a new one, especially when it comes in vertical platforming fashion – just like Rising Hell.

As the name suggests, Rising Hell will see you attempting to climb out of the ever-changing hellscape that you find yourself in, as you fight back against blood thirsty hordes in the process.

Priced at £7.99 and available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, to join the launches on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam over the last couple of days, Rising Hell will pound your ears with fierce heavy-metal riffs, whilst delivering full on pixelated visual action to your eyes. With the need to ensure that your fingers are up to the reflex tasks that are at hand, this is one hell of an experience.

It’s the vertical roguelite action that is probably going to set this one apart from other titles of similar ilk, as you chain combos, perform outrageous jumps and battle some of the most epic bosses. Our full review of Rising Hell on Xbox Series X comments on the exciting music and gameplay which is on offer, and hypes the power of the shorter runs that see this becoming perfect for gamers short on time. Granted, we cared little for the various characters on offer, but hey, nothing’s perfect, eh!

Game features include:

  • – Vertical Rogue-lite: Climb out of the ever-changing procedurally generated hell while the ever-present threat of permadeath fills your veins with adrenaline.
  • – Epic Boss Battles: Slay gigantic ancient demons such as Dagon, Beelzebub, and many more. – Multiple Game Modes: Choose between campaign and challenge modes complete with its own leaderboards.
  • – Unlockable Characters: Play and unlock different characters that will give you a variety of different playstyles and strategies.

If you’re sold on the premise and fancy trying to climb from hell, then Rising Hell can be pciked up on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S from the Xbox Store. It’s also present on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC through good old Steam.

Let us know in the comments if you decide to pick it up.
