After having pushed back the Root once, you may have thought your work was done in Remnant: From the Ashes. But this final DLC available today has other ideas. Are you ready to take in Subject 2923?
In this last and most expansive premium DLCs for Remnant: From the Ashes, players continue their journey after the conclusion of the main game in Subject 2923. It comes with all the great stuff we have come to expect from Remnant: that is, new quests, bosses, weapons, armour sets and trinkets. Plus tons of new upgrade features.
After defeating Nightmare in the depths of Ward 13, Ford has discovered the Root still have a connection to Earth. He believes the answers can be found in new locations.
In this new Subject 2923 DLC, there will also be new environments to explore. One of those is Ward Prime: a previously abandoned military base. Perhaps though, the secrets within were best left undiscovered, as it holds the key to not only the beginnings of the dreaded Root, but also the mysterious Dreamers.
Some of these secrets go back to before this post-apocalyptic nightmare began.
Another location in the new content is the icy area of Reisum. After the harsh worlds of Rhom, this colder area might at first be a welcome change of scenery, but prolonged exposure to these harsh temperatures is just as deadly as the new enemies you will come across.

Features of Subject 2923 include:
- New Campaign Mode: Subject 2923: Players will discover the origins of ‘The Dreamers’ and how they connect to the dreaded Root in this brand-new campaign – continuing the story of Remnant: From the Ashes with an expedition to Ward Prime, and several new locations.
- New Zones, Bosses, and Quests: From rural lands and an abandoned military base on ruined Earth, to the frosty and unforgiving heights of the mountainous world Reisum, players will take on intense new challenges as they continue their fight for survival.
- Superior Firepower: Players will outfit their character in order to survive these dangerous new experiences, choosing from a host of new weapons and modifications, new armor sets and skins, and new trinkets.
- Survival, Adventure, and Hardcore Mode Updates: New threats emerge in Survival Mode and Adventure Mode, as monsters, dungeons, and bosses from Reisum are added to the rotation – while Survival Mode and Hardcore Mode receive a suite of new rewards.
Players that have already jumped into Remnant: From the Ashes through a standard purchase of through Xbox Game Pass will be pleased to know this final DLC is available separately priced at £8.39. For those who haven’t not yet taken the plunge, there is now a Complete Edition available priced at £41.74. This includes the base game, the excellent Swamps of Corsus DLC and the new Subject 2923 add-on.
Remnant: From the Ashes is one of the best examples of the Soulsborne genre, mixing the challenging gameplay with gun-based combat. Having received numerous updates during its lifespan, this final DLC is bittersweet but hopefully this first game is just the beginning.
