Are you ready to experience a couple of intense tactical takes on everyday heroes? Movie Games are coming to market with Fire Commander and War Hospital for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
Revealed during the Future Games Show, Movie Games are looking to make waves in the PC and console scenes this coming year with two titles that focus on the everyday heroes who ensure our lives are kept safe – Fire Commander and War Hospital.
We’ll take Fire Commander start with. Co-produced by Atomic Wolf and Pixel Crow, this will see you heading straight into the raging inferno; a game that promises to be a dream-come-true for everyone who has ever wanted to don the yellow bunker gear.
Fire Commander is a game about leading the most daring firefighting and rescue operations. It works as a real time tactical rescue game, but Movie Games are promising to take that to the next level, with the game tasking the player with leading a team of firefighters. It’s a rare game about being an everyday hero, where the enemy can’t be outgunned, only outsmarted. We just hope that it is a better firefighting experience than the other two doing the rounds on the Xbox Store – the awful Firefighters: The Simulation and Firefighters: Airport Fire Department.
Anyways, in Fire Commander players will face a variety of situations that firefighters have to overcome in real life, including toxic spills, plane crashes, wildfires and more. We should find that the fire itself will behave realistically, with different types of materials having a different combustion temperature, which could affect the player’s tactics. Digital fire commanders will have to consider such factors as backdraft or smoke. On the upside, they’ll have various firefighter classes, unlockable skills, gear and vehicles at their disposal. But further to that, they will also see their fire station grow and develop.
You see, taking care of the team is an important element of Fire Commander as players get the chance to send their heroes on training courses, develop their skills, and monitor their mental condition. This is necessary to ensure that during emergencies, everyone knows what to do, and won’t hesitate to do it.
Features will include:
- Different classes of firefighters
- Experience system with unlockable skills
- Numerous rescue vehicles and a growing fire station
- Story and side missions
- An enemy you cannot outpower, only outsmart
Marek Czerniak, Game Director – “Fire Commander is a game we’ve always wanted to play, echoing such cult classics as the Emergency series, but using modern technology to add realism and emotions.”
Fire Commander will come to PC, and after that to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
But then we also have War Hospital – a war-themed tactical game about saving lives and souls.
This comes from Brave Lamb Studio to deliver a unique society survival title about saving lives during World War 1 instead of taking them. It thrusts us into 1917, playing as Major Henry Wells, a retired British combat medic who has been drafted back and thrown into the nightmare of World War I. Understaffed and undersupplied, you are the last bastion of hope for countless soldiers at the Eastern Front.
War Hospital looks set to deliver a similar gaming experience to the likes of Frostpunk and This War of Mine, as you attempt to run a field hospital, building a facility to heal combat injuries while the artillery shells explode ear-splittingly close. The game faithfully depicts WW1 wounds and field equipment, and presents realistic medical tools and methods, giving the player an opportunity to develop them.
The team at Brave Lamb Studio are emphasising the moral side of commanding a WW1 field hospital, with player duties focusing on triage, the prioritization of wounded soldiers, and the need to look in their personal history to determine who should be saved.
Features will include:
- A war-themed game focused on saving lives, not taking them
- Society survival that challenges tactics as well as morals
- Faithfully recreated setting of the French Front in WW1
- Realistically depicted conditions of a British field hospital
- Develop and put to use innovative WW1 medical technology
Michał Dziwniel, Head of Brave Lamb Studio – “War Hospital is a unique war-themed game. Medics in the time of war have almost god-like authority. Who deserves to live, and should anyone make this decision?” “Our game celebrates life, not death. At the same time, it is as spectacular as the setting calls for. You will see the surrounding town changing over the seasons, with the progressing destruction.”
War Hospital will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC via Steam.
So, check out the trailers given and let us know which of Fire Commander and War Hospital you are most looking forward to.
