Just a couple of months ago, Bandai Namco, Outright Games and UK developers Funsolve, announced that they’d be releasing a 3D action-adventure game based on the recent Jumanji film. Now though, a fresh gameplay trailer has been released into the wild for Jumanji: The Video Game to coincide with news of a new release date.

Jumanji: The Video Game looks encourage you and three friends to leave your world behind and get together for online (online co-op not available on Switch) or local split-screen adventures; only then can you attempt to recover the previous Jewels. If friends are an issue, don’t worry about going it alone as the A.I. companions will keep you company. Whoever is by your side though, there’ll be deadly beasts to slay, evil marauders to defeat and traps to avoid.

Fortunately, you’ll have the heroes of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle as playable characters – Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, and Professor Shelly Oberon. Each of the characters look like their film counter parts and posses the unique abilities needed to save the day. Making the best use of these abilities is crucial to surviving, but should you fail, just dust yourself off and go again in this endless adventure – no two playthroughs are the same.

In regards the release date alteration, and well, it’s good news really as Jumanji: The Video Game is set to launch a little earlier than planned, with the date now set for 8th November, 2019. We’d recommend a watch of the first official gameplay trailer below, because it’ll give you a glimpse of the frantic and exciting adventures to expect when it arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Let us know what you think after you’ve watched it!

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
