Kool2Play Studios are looking to release their top-down shooter, Uragun, to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020, promising to deliver all kinds of pure mayhem. Today though they have released the very first trailer for the game, showcases the story, gameplay and more.
The first trailer for Uragun shows off some never-seen-before gameplay footage, presenting the main plot lines and overall game style to interested players. Running as a a hardcore top-down shooter that comes with just a pinch of tactical combat, Uragun will see you attempting to outsmart and outshoot hostile swarms of AI-controlled machines.
But what is so clever and interesting about this shooter from Kool2Play Studios is the fact that the levels have been designed to reflect the layouts of various real-life major cities from across the globe. And this means that Uragun allows players to head to the likes of New York, London, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing and Warsaw as they take control of a heavily armed mech suit tasked with eliminating waves upon waves of super smart AI bots.
And if you don’t believe us, you can see it for yourself in the trailer below.
Combining the dense atmosphere of the cult classic Syndicate with the dynamic gameplay elements of Crimsonland with the tactical elements of Helldivers, Uragun looks to be set to become a bit of a winner. When you then also consider that the lead designer, Jacek Wesołowski, was one of the creative minds behind such acclaimed titles as Bulletstorm and Hard Reset, anticipation levels rise some more.
It also helps that one of the most distinct features of the game will be found in its enemies; a cast of killer robots with a wide set of complex behaviors and coordinated tactics. This machinic menace is controlled by a unique, dynamic AI, without any predetermined actions and set pieces. According to the developers, the players will face a large, varied enemy roster – each bot will utilize different tactics corresponding to its abilities and armaments, as well as dynamically modify its behaviour in response to environmental conditions.
Sounds good, eh? Well, Uragun will be available initially on Steam Early Access in Early 2020, with a launch on further formats – Xbox and PlayStation consoles (note the reluctance to name XO and PS4 specifically!), along with Nintendo Switch – come mid-2020.
Make sure you keep an eye out for it.
