Ripstone Games and the development team at Auroch Digital have released the first gameplay video for their occult, turn-based strategy experience Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics. Available for perusal below, Design Director Tomas Rawlings walks players through the opening mission of the game, dropping in plenty of detail in regards the mechanics, gameplay and background lore. In this mission, Mademoiselle Dubois and Corporal Singh must make their way behind enemy lines, then move through the deadly forest, crawling with Nazi enemies, in order to get to their rendez-vous point with other members of Charlie Company – Captain Harris and Sergeant Carter.
Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year. Based on the wildly successful tabletop RPG from Modiphius Entertainment, it is a game that is set in an alternate history of World War II, where the Nazis’ investigations into the occult have resulted in the summoning of Lovecraftian monsters at their side, that could enable them to destroy the allied forces. It sees you taking control of Charlie Company, an elite band of allied forces, sent in to do the impossible… foil the Nazi plans and turn the tide of war – and promises to bring a delightful mix of turn based strategy and RPG mechanics to the table.
