It’s going to be the next massive episodic story coming from the Telltale team and today we get the chance to have a first look at Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.
Set to arrive digitally this Spring on PC, console and mobile, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series has today seen the first screenshots and cast details revealed. AÂ brand new story covering the universe’s unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, in the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, it’ll be the decisions you make, and the actions you take as Star-Lord which will drive your own original Guardians adventure. But the series will ultimately only be as good as its voice talent and this one has got a full cast of stars, including Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O’Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Pretty Little Liars) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot.
If you are at PAX East this week, then make sure you join the team from Telltale Games as well as Marvel Games Creative Director, Bill Rosemann, on March 10th at 6pm in order to hear more about the series as they discuss the creative process behind this stellar new adventure. The panel will also be streamed live on Twitch, so ensure you tune in.
If you like what you see, and chances are you’ll love what you see, one week later on March 17th at SXSW in Austin, TX, you could be in the first audience in the world to Crowd Play an early version of the first episode at a one-of-a-kind premiere event at the Paramount Theater, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Audience members will be able to control the story from their seats using their mobile devices to help decide what happens on the big screen! The event will be open to all badge holders of SXSW or SXSW Gaming on a first-come, first-seated basis.
As is now the norm with a big Telltale release, if you don’t fancy going all digital and wish to have a proper physical disc to add to your collection, then the entire series will also be coming to retail as a special season pass disc, which will include the first episode in the season, and will grant access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download via online updates.
We fully expect the usual platforms and formats to get in on the action – Xbox One, PS4, PC, iOS, Android – but as soon as confirmation of the Guardians release is detailed, we’ll be sure to bring you it.
I don’t think Telltale have ever made a game I didn’t like, this looks awesome. I hope they incorporate some cool music into the game like they had in the movie!
Oh yeah, now this I like the sound of! I love the Telltale games and after how much I enjoyed Batman, playing as Starlord will be sweet!
