Five Games That Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In January And Two New Titles Arriving

-

Best of 2025

Microsoft always announces new titles to Xbox Game Pass with a big announcement, but the opposite is true for games to be removed. Five titles have quietly been marked as “Leaving Soon” on the Xbox app, including some notable titles.

There has also been an announcement of two new titles arriving in January, although this list is expected to grow in the coming days.

Xbox Game Pass titles are constantly changing as games are added and removed, although some stable genres have been around for years. One example is casino simulations and gambling-style games, which offer easy deposits for players and convenient cash-outs. Although many changes are expected to come to Game Pass in 2026, players can expect many long-standing titles to remain, too.

Games Leaving January 2026

The following games are all leaving Xbox Game Pass mid-January:

  • Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
  • Neon White
  • Road 96
  • The Ascent
  • The Grinch: Christmas Adventures

Users will notice there are some big names on this list. Flintlock was immediately available to play on its release in 2024, and many gamers were disappointed to learn that the indie game Neon White is on the list. The Ascent had made up for Cyberpunk 2077 not being on Game Pass, while many gamers enjoyed the wild unpredictability of Road 96

Although the upset around The Grinch: Christmas Adventures leaving is not that big, it was an easy title for many looking for a quick, uncomplicated gaming session.

There’s still some time left to enjoy these games if you hurry, and most have discounts ranging from 20% to 75%. You can easily finish these games within a few hours to a couple of days. For example, you can unlock the 12 achievements in Road 96 in about a day if you play consistently, while The Grinch can be completed in about five hours.

Flintlock is an action RPG and will require a larger time commitment, but it is pretty straightforward if you change the difficulty settings to “Easy”. The Ascent will also keep you occupied for about 25 hours, while the beloved Neon White can take upwards of 44 hours. Even if you don’t get to finish these games before they’re removed, you will still have a fun time exploring their game worlds.

Two Confirmed New Titles For January 2026

Although more titles are expected to join Game Pass at the start of the year, so far, Microsoft has confirmed two titles coming towards the end of January.

The first is MIO: Memories in Orbit, a metroidvania with an anime style. The main character is a robot that wakes up on a spaceship. You have to explore the shit, uncover memories, and learn the truth.

The second title is Nova Roma, a strategy game and city builder where the goal is to grow a small settlement into a powerful Roman city. It will require management of resources and the population, and keeping the gods happy.

Microsoft is expected to announce more titles in the coming days and weeks.
