You’ve got Batman. You’ve got Superman. You’ll usually find old Iron Man swooping in, hoping not to be left out, all as Spiderman starts to show his face too. Today though all the usual super heroes need to step aside, for the focus is on one man – Flaskoman.
Yeah yeah, we don’t know either, but Flaskoman is the name of the latest game to hit Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Flying Islands Team. Is he a flask? Well, if he is, we’re not really sure what super power he will hold, other than being able to keep some tea warm well into the day.
What Flaskoman actually is, is a 2D side scrolling platformer, one that will have you playing out the role of an experiment gone wrong. Your name is FLASK-157, but you’re not just a test subject and instead you’ve gained the ability to feel emotion and think. But you can also interact with a variety of different liquids – tea being one of them, hopefully – with the acquisition of each testing your intellect in more ways than one.
What this means is that as FLASK-157, or Flaskoman if you would prefer, you’re left to activate levers, work machines and make the most of the liquids ahead of you as you attempt to earn your freedom. And yep, your ultimate power is that your empty head can make the most of any and all liquids at hand. We can’t wait for this one.
Flaskoman certainly seems to have a bit of a nuts premise, but there is a fair old amount going on in terms of what is expected of a game that comes with just a £4.19 in tow. In fact, the key features sit as follows, and will probably be enough to convince you to open the wallet and give this one a shot…
- -Scientist researches the characteristics of mysterious liquids, which you can use to interact with lab mechanisms. Use it to build your own path.
- -Underground lab full of interactive and dangerous mechanisms: industrial presses, transporting lines and many others. Be careful!
- -Sarcastic Scientist who comment your actions. Perhaps, his attitude will change, once he understands the level of your intelligence.
And if those features don’t sell it? Well, keep an eye out for our full review of how Flaskoman plays out on Xbox.
It’ll be dropping soon and we’ll be sure to let you know how warm this flask is. If you can’t wait that long, just get over to the Xbox Store and take a punt. It’s not going to break the bank.
Game Description:

Perhaps among other test subjects, you are the first one, which gained ability to feel emotions and think. Can you demonstrate to your creator that you are not just a test subject? Each level is an experiment to test how you interact with technical liquids, to test your intellect. Press levers, activate transporting lines, and use liquids to activate various machines. Your empty head can turn the dangerous liquids into your instrument. Use your abilities to solve test chambers and earn your freedom!
