Flute Of Gobelin – out now on Xbox

Fancy yourself as a legendary flutist? Probably not one who can hypnotise goblins and command them into battle, though. That’s the rather unusual premise behind Flute Of Gobelin, a reverse bullet hell that has now arrived on Xbox Series X|S.

Priced at ÂŁ3.79, this small-scale action game puts you in charge of a growing goblin squad as relentless waves of humans attempt to capture you and your newly recruited allies.

Turn Goblins Into Your Army

Flute Of Gobelin flips the usual bullet hell formula around. Instead of simply trying to blast your way through endless enemies, you’re the one assembling the forces that will do the fighting for you.

Your magical flute allows you to hypnotise goblins and bring them into your squad. As you progress, new recruits can be added, with each of the 10 different goblins bringing their own abilities to the battlefield. That gives you the chance to experiment with different combinations, builds, synergies and combos as you attempt to survive increasingly dangerous encounters.

There are three stages to tackle, with the ultimate goal being to survive for 20 minutes and defeat the bosses waiting at the end.

A Curious Xbox Arrival

Flute Of Gobelin originally appeared on Steam in 2025, where it picked up positive reviews, although from a relatively small number of players. Now the reverse bullet hell has made its way to Xbox Series X|S at a budget-friendly ÂŁ3.79 from the Xbox Store.

If the thought of commanding a hypnotised goblin army with nothing but a magical flute sounds like the sort of nonsense you’re willing to embrace, Flute Of Gobelin is ready to put you to work.
