For the King II A New Age
For the King II A New Age and Fallen Oaths Update

The resistance in Fahrul is about to get some serious reinforcements.

IronOak Games and Curve Games have today unleashed a double-header of content for their popular turn-based RPG, For The King II.

Available today (from 10am PST, 1pm EST, 6pm GMT, 7pm CET) on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Game Pass, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, players can dive into the premium Fallen Oaths Character Pack alongside a substantial free content update titled A New Age.

It hasn’t been long since the sequel first marched onto consoles, reigning supreme on Game Pass upon its initial launch. Now, the adventure is growing even larger, offering perfect excuses for both veterans and newcomers to roll the dice once more.

New Heroes Rise: The Fallen Oaths DLC

The premium side of today’s drop focuses on bolstering your party options with fresh faces and heavy weaponry. The Fallen Oaths Character Pack introduces two distinct playable classes that bring entirely new strategies to the hex-based board.

First up is the Fallen Knight, a battle-hardened warrior whose feeble appearance hides a master of arms. Wielding a powerful Lance, they are pledged to protect the innocent and bring honour back to the battlefield. Contrasting the knight’s brute force is the Voidwalker.

This mysterious figure utilises a Rifle and boasts otherworldly abilities, allowing them to traverse the overworld and the battlefield in the blink of an eye.

The DLC pack also includes extra goodies to flesh out your journey, including a new pet, a mercenary to hire, and fresh cosmetic skins to ensure your party looks the part while saving the realm.

A New Age Dawns for Free

You don’t need to open your wallet to enjoy fresh content today, however. The second major free update, A New Age, also goes live for all players, continuing the narrative threads left hanging by The Child of Chaos update.

This new adventure sees the Chaos spreading further into the very fabric of the land, requiring brave heroes to venture into the nefarious void realm to battle unknown forces. Long-time fans of the franchise will be delighted to see the return of the Astronomer class from the original game, making a dazzling comeback to aid the resistance.

The update also adds the Musket weapon set, giving you more black powder options in combat.

Summary of Today’s Updates

Here is a quick breakdown of what you can expect to find in For The King II starting today:

  • Fallen Oaths DLC (Paid):
    • Two New Classes: Play as the lance-wielding Fallen Knight or the rifle-toting Voidwalker.
    • New Gear: Exclusive Lance and Rifle weapon sets.
    • Extras: Includes a Gold-tier Trait, Mercenary, Pet, and Cosmetic Skin.
  • A New Age Update (Free):
    • New Adventure: Continue the story as you battle void forces in ‘A New Age’.
    • Returning Class: The Astronomer returns from the first game.
    • New Items: Includes the Musket Weapon Set, new helmets, and traits.

“We’re thrilled to be launching two major new pieces of content for both new and returning players to enjoy; the Fallen Oaths DLC, and the A New Age Update,” said Sterling Anderson, Studio Director at IronOak Games. “Between the new adventure to embark on with friends, and the new playable characters, we hope everyone will find themselves wonderfully lost in the world of For the King II once again.”

Whether you are looking to master the Lance with the Fallen Knight or explore the Void with the Astronomer, Fahrul is calling. For The King II, the Fallen Oaths DLC, and the A New Age update are available today on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

With the base game in Game Pass, there’s next to no reason to not check it out.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
