Republic of Pirates – navigating to Xbox and PlayStation

The Golden Age of Piracy has returned to console today, bringing with it a swashbuckling city builder that blends settlement building and resource management with fast-paced real-time naval combat.

Republic of Pirates, the critically acclaimed new title from developer Crazy Goat Games, has launched on console. This exciting new adventure from publisher PQube is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for ÂŁ20.99.

Previously available on PC, this ambitious title invites you to develop a humble outpost into a sprawling pirate utopia, command a powerful fleet, and bring justice to the traitors who wronged you.

A Vicious Mutiny

The story of Republic of Pirates begins in the heart of the Caribbean, during the Golden Age of Piracy. An alliance of crews, united by their shared ideology, once prospered. But greed and jealousy led to a vicious mutiny and a final bloody breakup. Now, you must set out to forge a new pirate utopia and bring justice to the traitors who wronged you.

Check out the thrilling gameplay overview trailer here…

A Blend of Anno and Age of Empires

This is a game that promises to blend the best elements of classic city builders like Anno with the real-time strategy gameplay of Age of Empires. And of course, pirates immediately mean Sea of Thieves

You will begin by developing a humble outpost, investing in production buildings and amenities, and then expanding it into a sprawling settlement. You’ll need to distribute valuable goods across a network of docks, depots, and warehouses to address the needs of your citizens and increase their standing in pirate society.

Beyond building your settlement, you will also need to recruit heroic captains and command a powerful fleet. You’ll take to the waves in the name of conquest, liberating islands, defeating rival factions, and navigating complex diplomatic relationships with the most influential national trading companies of the era.

Your Captain’s Log

Here’s what you can expect from this new swashbuckling adventure:

  • A Swashbuckling City Builder with Real-Time Naval Combat: Forge a new pirate utopia.
  • Develop a Sprawling Settlement: Invest in production, amenities, and resource distribution.
  • Command a Powerful Fleet: Recruit heroic captains and take to the waves in conquest.
  • Liberate Islands and Defeat Rival Factions: Navigate complex diplomatic relationships.
  • Acclaimed PC Hit: The successful PC title makes its long-awaited console debut.

The tides are turning and a new pirate legend is ready to be forged. If you’re a fan of deep strategy games and the romantic (and brutal) allure of the Golden Age of Piracy, Republic of Pirates is ready for your command on Xbox Series X|S via the Xbox Store right now. If you’re a PS5 player, fill your boots from the PlayStation Store.
