Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree – out now

A breathtaking and beautiful new roguelite action-adventure, which features stunning painterly scenery and a unique soundtrack from a legendary composer, has just taken root on consoles and PC – Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree.

This gorgeous new title from Brownies and Bandai Namco is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Standard Edition is priced at ÂŁ24.99.

Prepare to enter a vibrant world filled with beauty and perilous danger, as you lead the guardians of the sacred tree, forge powerful new swords, and fight to determine the future of Shinju Village.

A World of Beauty and Peril

The story of Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is set in a far-off mystic realm. The tranquil Shinju village is threatened by the evil Magatsu’s quest for domination, and his army of minions are spreading their evil influence across the land.

It is up to Towa, the priestess of Shinju, and her eight trustworthy companions to defeat Magatsu and restore peace.

Check out the gorgeous adventure in the official launch trailer…

A Symphony of Swords and Magic

This is a game of fast-paced, 2D isometric action. Before each quest, you will choose two of the eight unique guardians to take with you. One guardian will wield the power of the sacred sword (Tsurugi), and the other will be the bearer of the magical staff (Kagura). Each guardian has their own unique abilities and set of swords, making each combat style and guardian pair a unique experience.

Between your quests across different timelines, you will return to the hub world of Shinju Village, which will evolve over the years as you progress. Each visit is a chance to develop unique bonds with the residents, learn more about their customs, train at the dojo, summon powerful Graces, and, most importantly, craft new swords at the smithing shop.

From a Legendary Composer

The entire experience is brought to life with a stunning, hand-drawn art style and gorgeous, painterly scenery. This is all accompanied by a unique soundtrack from the legendary composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, who is best known for his incredible work on masterpieces like Final Fantasy XII and Vagrant Story.

Choose Your Path: Editions and DLC

You can start your adventure today with two different digital editions:

  • Standard Edition (ÂŁ24.99): Includes the full base game.
  • Deluxe Edition (ÂŁ34.99): Includes the full game and the Digital Artbook & Soundtrack (otherwise ÂŁ9.99).

For those who want to add some extra style to their guardians, the Guardians’ Vestments DLC is also available for ÂŁ3.99. This pack grants additional costumes for Towa and all eight of her companions.
