Spray Paint Simulator – now on Game Pass and more

The town of Spatterville is desperately calling for a makeover, and you’re just the artist for the job in Spray Paint Simulator as it blasts onto Game Pass, Xbox, PC and PlayStation.

Spray Paint Simulator, is a satisfyingly – and uber relaxing – painting game from North Star Video Games and Whitethorn Games. It has launched today.

This creative title is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, and excitingly for Xbox players, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, debuting Day One on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For those looking to purchase outright, laying down the cash is also possible.

Further, Xbox Play Anywhere support is also in the house.

Prepare to grow your own painting business, fulfil the requests of quirky clients, and transform the world around you from drab to fab, one spray at a time.

Welcome to Spatterville: A Town in Need of Colour

In Spray Paint Simulator, you’ll embark on a whimsical adventure, starting your painting business from the ground up. The game invites you to meet an eccentric group of clients in Career Mode, all of whom desperately need your painting expertise.

Your tasks will involve much more than just pointing and spraying. You’ll need to:

  • Prep Your Space: Deliver the best results by properly prepping your work area. This includes fixing and removing objects and meticulously masking the area before you even pick up a can.
  • Select Your Palette: Choose the right colours for the job from an assortment of options – the final artistic result is up to your keen eye!
  • Paint to Perfection: Unleash your creativity and paint everything from rooms and homes to cars, bridges, and even giant robots, all while keeping your customers happy!
  • Upgrade Your Gear: As your business grows, invest in better tools, vehicles (for reaching those bigger jobs), and equipment like ladders and scaffolding to tackle those hard-to-reach spots. You’ll also need to manage your consumables like paint and battery power.
  • Freedom to Spray: Solo or Co-op Creativity

Beyond the structured Career Mode, Spray Paint Simulator offers a Free Spray Mode. Here, you can unlock the unlimited potential of your creative freedom, making the entire town your canvas either solo or by teaming up with a friend in co-op play.

A Relaxing Contrast to the Grind of Cleaning

While some simulation games focus on the satisfying grind of cleaning, Spray Paint Simulator offers the creative joy of adding colour and life. It’s almost the artistic opposite of titles like the much-loved PowerWash Simulator (which we gave a 4/5). Instead of blasting away grime, you’re layering on vibrant hues.

The team at North Star Video Games, a dynamic duo with a combined 40 years of industry experience (including work on Lawn Mowing Simulator during their time at Skyhook Games), shared their excitement:

“After months of creating a game that we had loads of fun making, we’re very excited to be able to share it with the world,” said Nick Jefferson-Tame, Lead Artist and Creative Director, North Star Video Games. “When you launch a title, there’s always a mixture of excitement and nerves after putting it out there. We’ve done our best to listen to player feedback and create a game we hope will be enjoyed by many. I can’t wait to see what players come up with during their time with the game!”

“It’s been a long journey from forming our studio, to the initial idea for Spray Paint Simulator, and now, its release, and we couldn’t be more proud,” said Adam Mitchell, Lead Programmer and Technical Director, North Star Video Games. “In the past, we’ve always made games for other people, so creating something ourselves has been both exciting and a little scary. We’re grateful for the support from our publisher and the many players who have helped us shape the game into something we’re eager for people to play. We hope they enjoy it.”
