PUCKOFF RELOADED – now on Xbox

It’s well known that hockey is pretty chaotic. But we don’t think it is supposed to be this chaotic. At least not if you’re going by what the rulebook says. But hey, PUCKOFF: RELOADED isn’t particularly interested in the rulebook anyway, bringing its brand of no-rules hockey to Xbox Series X|S and PC for £12.49, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Previously available only on PC, this reloaded version gives console players their chance to lace up and get involved.

At A Glance

  • Game: PUCKOFF: RELOADED
  • Developer: Kuura Playhouse Oy
  • Publisher: Kuura Playhouse Oy
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC, Play Anywhere
  • Price: £12.49
  • Genre: Hockey / Sports

Welcome To The No-Rules Rink

Forget what you’ve learnt in NHL 27, PUCKOFF: RELOADED throws you onto the ice as a complete newcomer, with plenty to learn before you can take on the game’s biggest challenge – the mythical terrorizer known as Dominator.

Rather than simply handing you a superstar squad and sending you on your way, the game has you building a team from a colourful collection of has-beens and legends. You’ll need to learn different playstyles and figure out how to deal with the characters you’ll encounter around the globe.

It’s less about pristine hockey and more about finding your own way to survive the madness.

Meet The Team

Fortunately, you’re not expected to figure everything out alone.

There’s Sarah, who is apparently incapable of not being cheerful, Eddie, the best beer-league goalie around, and a perpetually grumpy Coach who has seemingly seen just about everything hockey can throw at him.

Together, they’ll help you get to grips with the game while you build your team and work towards facing Dominator.

From PC To The Xbox Rink

PUCKOFF: RELOADED should be seen as the latest and greatest version of the previously PC-only PUCKOFF, now opening the doors to Xbox players for the first time.

At £12.49, it’s an intriguing proposition for anyone looking for something a little different from the usual polished sports simulation. There are no promises of perfectly behaved players or traditional hockey etiquette here – just a team of unlikely characters, different playstyles and a rather imposing opponent waiting at the end of it.

Sold and ready to hit the ice? PUCKOFF: RELOADED is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support through the Xbox Store. Grab your skates, pick your team and prepare to discover just how far you can get when the rulebook has been firmly left in the changing room.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
