Fortnite Ballistic – available for free

There’s a new way to experience the Fortnite universe as Fortnite Ballistic explodes onto the scene for free.

Epic Games is launching Fortnite Ballistic, a free-to-play first-person tactical FPS that’s now available in Early Access on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This exciting new mode offers a unique and competitive experience for fans of tactical shooters and those looking for a fresh challenge in the ever-evolving world of Fortnite. Perhaps you’re bored of LEGO Fortnite and need a new test.

A Tactical Twist on the Fortnite Formula

Fortnite Ballistic departs from the traditional Fortnite formula with its focus on tactical gameplay, strategic decision-making, and intense first-person action.

This round-based 5v5 mode pits two teams against each other in a battle for supremacy, where communication, precision, and clever use of gadgets are crucial for victory.

Early Access: A Glimpse into the Future

Fortnite Ballistic is launching in Early Access, meaning it’s still a work in progress. The initial release features the Skyline 10 map, a starting set of weapons, and a limited number of items.

However, Epic Games is committed to expanding and refining the experience based on player feedback, with plans for new maps, weapons, and features in future updates.

Round-Based Objectives

In Ballistic, players are divided into attackers and defenders. Attackers must plant a reality-tearing Rift Point Device at one of two designated sites on the map, while defenders strive to prevent the device from being planted and detonated.

With no respawns, each round is a tense and strategic battle for survival.

Whatever, start each round with a Ranger Pistol and 800 Credits, which can be used to purchase additional weapons, gadgets, and upgrades. From there, look to eliminate enemies and plant the Rift Point Device to earn more Credits and enhance your loadout.

Survive a round, and you’ll keep your gear and shields for the next, adding a layer of strategic resource management to the gameplay.

Flex Your Gadgets

Each player chooses one of five unique Flex Gadgets at the start of a match. These gadgets, such as Proximity Mines, Bubble Shields, and Recon Grenades, can be purchased during the Buy phase and offer powerful tactical advantages.

Ballistic offers both Unranked and Ranked modes to cater to different playstyles too. Unranked provides a more casual experience, while Ranked matches offer a competitive environment with a ranking system and leaver penalties to ensure fair play.

However you play, ensure you tailor your Ballistic experience with new settings options for reticle and damage feedback, allowing you to customise your HUD and fine-tune your gameplay.

A First-Person Revolution

Fortnite Ballistic marks a significant milestone for the Fortnite franchise, introducing a first-person perspective and a tactical gameplay experience that sets it apart from the traditional battle royale mode. With its focus on teamwork, strategy, and precise gunplay, Ballistic offers a fresh and exciting way to experience the Fortnite universe.

Fortnite Ballistic is available now in Early Access on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One (the Xbox Store is here), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Remember, it’s free to download.
