A Journey Sparked By A Disappearance
The story of Fortuna Magus begins with a family tragedy. Amane, Tia and their younger sister Lill once lived peacefully with their father, Kalius. But when he suddenly disappears, their lives change forever.
Ten years later, a chance meeting with a mysterious magus named Rett reignites long-buried questions. In a world where those capable of magic are feared and persecuted, defending Rett quickly places Amane on the wrong side of the law.
Branded a fugitive, Amane and Tia are forced to flee as they search for answers about their father’s disappearance, and the deeper truths hidden within their world.
Strategic Battles And Magical Revelations
At its core, Fortuna Magus is built around strategic turn-based combat, where careful planning and experimentation are key.
One of the game’s defining systems is the Revelation mechanic. By fulfilling certain combat conditions, characters can unlock new abilities mid-battle. These revelations grant access to powerful spells, unique skills and even devastating tandem attacks between party members.
It encourages players to experiment with tactics, triggering new abilities as characters grow stronger.
Grow Stronger With Magestones
Progression in Fortuna Magus revolves around magestones, mystical items collected from enemies and hidden throughout the world.
These stones increase elemental levels for characters, unlocking new abilities and improving the likelihood of triggering powerful revelations in combat. The more you explore and experiment, the more tools you’ll gain to strengthen your party.
And with systems designed to encourage continued progression, the adventure doesn’t necessarily end once the story credits roll.
Standard Or Special Edition?
Fortuna Magus launches on Xbox in two versions.
The Standard Edition, priced at £16.74, includes the full RPG experience. Meanwhile the Special Edition (£24.99) bundles the base game with several gameplay-enhancing add-ons including:
These optional boosts allow players to tailor the difficulty and pace of their adventure. They are also available for purchase individually.
