If you thought you were done with the awesome Forza Horizon 3 then think again because today a whole new expansion has been detailed – and it looks to be a hell of a lot of fun.
Arriving on May 9th 2017, the Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion does exactly as you would expect. For $19.99, it brings jumps, it brings stunts, and it brings a whole ton of madness as a new Australian location allows us to hit that iconic orange Hot Wheels banking as fast as we can. With vehicles like the Twin Mill, the Rip Rod and the Bone Shaker included, it’ll be Forza Horizon 3 – but not like you’ve ever seen before.
In fact, it’s got a bit of a Trackmania Turbo vibe about it – and that’s a good thing!
A whole new campaign will be in place, letting you complete events before hitting the ultimate stunt driving test – a Grand Finale on the massive Hot Wheels Goliath circuit. New achievements and gamerscore will also be available, giving even more reason for you to hook up with a group of mates to hammer round those orange tracks.
These will be placed in six new themed islands, found just off the coast of Australia; all connected by a network of Hot Wheels tracks and positioned hundreds of feet in the air. It will be stunt driving at its most extreme, where you can master tracks by performing brand new Hot Wheels skills that make use of boost pads, high-bank turns, half-pipes, insane jumps, and even giant mechanical dinosaurs. If you’re looking to get creative, check out the new Stunt Swap feature to modify stunt track sections and dare your friends to try them.
In order to enjoy everything the Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion brings, you’ll be needing some new motors, with all of the following becoming available:
- 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill
- 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker
- 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod
- 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang
- 2016 Jeep Trailcat
- 2016 Zenvo ST1
- 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38
- 2010 Pagani Zonda R
- 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E49
But that’s not all, as alongside the Hot Wheels expansion an update for FH3 will be hitting home for Windows 10 players. This will bring a raft of changes including improved new support for numerous popular driving wheels, improved CPU performance, additional graphical options, and more.
So standby for a bit of manic action as the Hot Wheels expansion revs up for release. We know what we’ll be doing come May 9th. Will you join us?

This looks great, I’ll be all over this!
I’m actually not so sure about this one… it’s a big departure from the normal realism of the series and looks more like something you’d get in GTA Online. I’ll keep an open mind but think it might be a pass from me… or at least a wait until it comes down in price to a level where I’m prepared to take a chance.
