The second week of the Hidden Horizons Series of challenges for Forza Horizon 5 has hoved into view; the challenges for Series 38 Autumn, no less. I guess that means it is time for me to get on with playing the game and figuring out what we need to do.
As usual, there is a lot of stuff to go at, and I’ll do my best to explain what and why, as well as how, you are best to meet the challenges this week. That means new cars and new tunes…
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Street King
The 1971 Plymouth Cuda 426 Hemi is the subject of this week’s car challenge, and while the name may be a bit of a mouthful, the performance should put a smile on your face.
Apparently this car got the Cuda name as the front looks like a barracuda – I can’t see it myself.
Should you not have one already, go and buy it from the Autoshow – they will exchange it for 160,000 of your credits.
Chapter 1 – Bark and Bite
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete. Turns out it’s slower than walking.
Chapter 2 – All the Power
Earn 2 Hard Charger skills by, basically, accelerating as hard as you can! And do a burnout as you set off. Stock trim works fine.
Chapter 3 – 2G Hemi
Earn a total of 426 mph across speed traps to complete this step. Bit of a pain, to be honest, but go and grind.
Chapter 4 – Rainbow of Colour
Because the car could come in vibrant colours, we need to race it at night and win a street race. Makes no sense to me either.
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 38.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
The Trial, Eventlabs, PR Stunts, races – that’s what you are getting with Series 38 Autumn. All seems a bit familiar!
The Trial – Acura-te Detail
Two weeks on the bounce that a team has actually raced and not played dodgems – I don’t want to jinx it, but have we turned a corner?
This week the theme is Cars from Japan, with a tuning limit of A Class 800. I went with a Toyota GR Supra, and the share code for mine is : 984217186.
Let’s hope the racing gods smile down on us this week, as we attempt to win an Acura NSX
Eventlab 1 – TORQUEDEMONZ Presents Circuit Des Reines
The class here is a Track Toy tuned to S1 Class 900, and so the car of choice is the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and the share code for mine is : 129256081. This is the 2012 model.
A decent flowing layout, I quite liked this one.
A Super Wheelspin is the prize. Again.
Eventlab 2 – VEIXITY Presents Close & Technical //Street//
The class here is Super Saloons, tuned to A Class 800.
I went with an Audi RS6 Avant (as always, we’ll gloss over the fact it isn’t a saloon for now) and the share code is : 736888629.
A good course, but it is the ambience that sells it. This one is very much like racing in an episode of Initial D!
The prize for winning out? A Super Wheelspin, for a change.
PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Cannonball
This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, an S1 Class 900 Chevrolet, so I chose a Corvette Stingray from 2020 – share code is : 846887118.
Jump over 220m to win. I had to hit the ramp at 165 mph to jump far enough.
Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Canyon Pass
Blast past the camera at high speed to win, and the target is 162 mph. Very specific!
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
Seasonal Championship 1 – History Lesson
We need a car from the 1960’s and then we need to tune it B Class 700. I chose a Camaro Super Sport Coupe from 1969 and the share code is : 144142144.
For winning out, we can take home a Mustang from 2016.
Seasonal Championship 2 – Benz and Curve
What an awful pun.
Still, for this championship it is all about the Mercedes Benz and Mercedes AMG cars, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. I went for a Mercedes Benz A45 and the share name is “A45” with my GT, Red620Ti.
The prize for winning is a Corvette from 2009.
Seasonal Championship 3 – Right on the Money
An odd choice of category for this set of races, all the cars have to cost more than 100,000 credits, and be A Class 800 tuned. I chose an Evo VII MR . The share code is : 155014585. Who’d have thought this car was worth more than 100,000?
We can win a KTM X-Bow, so totally worthwhile.
Part 3: Other Challenges
A good mix of things to try this week, with a photo, a treasure hunt, some Hide and Seek, and a touch of Horizon Arcade. Let’s see what we need to do!
Photo Challenge – #SPYTRAINING
Take a photo of a statue this week, no car needed… Again!
We have to find and photograph the Detective Tank in the Hotel Castillo Santa Cecilia. He’s tucked away, so check the photo and map to find him.
Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.
The reward? A new Forzalink phrase, “Kinda Sus”.
Treasure Hunt – Free as a Bluebird
The clue reads “Let this Cult Car show off and have fun, jump it five times towards Datsun”.
Glossing over the dreadful pun, we need to take a Datsun 510 and jump it five times – Dunas Blancas is a good area for this.
The chest contains 100 FP, and the location is shown below.
Horizon Arcade – Mini Games
Now we simply have to complete Round 3 of any Arcade mini game session.Pick your best from speed, drift, air, wreckage and chaos. Drift is obviously best.
We will be rewarded to the tune of 3 whole points.
Hide and Seek
As last week, it’s time to play the much hyped new game mode, Hide & Seek. No pointers here, mainly because it is super simple. It is a lot easier to be a Hider than a Seeker…
Take home a Super Wheelspin, to add to the collection.
Horizon Open – Bring your ‘A’ Game
A bit of Open racing to do now, and we need to complete a race in an A Class car. Pick your best and let rip!
The prize is a car horn, Confetti Cannon. Woo.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – The Ribbon
The vehicles for the PR Stunts in the next two sections are the same – an A Class 800 Toyota. Same as the Trial then! I went with a Toyota GR Supra, and the share code for mine is : 984217186.
Average over 150 mph to win out. Piece of cake!
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Against the Elements
For this event, a Sports Utility Hero is required, and that means the Bentley Bentayga, a car so ugly it makes me cry, never mind children! Share code is : 118484657.
Completing the championship will get us a 911 Turbo from 1982.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Snap
Same car rules. Same car!
Jumping over 200m will see us triumph. This is tough, I’m not going to lie.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Another.
Seasonal Championship – Old Sport
We need a Retro Hot Hatch, tuned to C Class 600 – so it is the stock Honda Civic Type R from 2004 that gets the nod.
The reward for racing? A Audi RS6.
The rewards for Series 38 and Autumn in Forza Horizon 5
With Series 38 moving into Autumn, you should be on the way to grabbing some new cars – and for Series 38 that means the Nissan Tsuru for 80 points and a Nissan Safari for 160 points.
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 38 – and we are back to only two this week – Plaza Circuit and Lookout Circuit. The prize total stays the same though, 4 points for making sure you turn in a clean lap.
Grab enough points and Series 38 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive Subaru WRX ‘22 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get the Sierra 700R, a hard to find car.
So, with two weeks down in the Hidden Horizons Series 38, we are looking forward to the next two, as Winter and finally Spring will follow with relentless certainty. Stay tuned next week for the next thrilling installment!
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
