Forza Horizon 5 Weekly Challenges Guide – Series 5 – Summer

-

As the seasons change in Forza Horizon 5 a whole new host of challenges are set. With the move into Series 5 of these weekly offerings, the whole Horizon landscape is changing, with a huge emphasis now being placed on the new PR stunts being made available through the Horizon Rush Takeover. Want us to help you navigate your way through the madness? We’ve got you sorted with helpful hints, tips and tunes which will ensure you nail the weekly challenges found in Forza Horizon 5 – Series 5 – Summer.

Yes the World Cup is over, but the party is really starting now with Forza Horizon 5’s Series 5 – Summer challenges. New Trials, new Danger Signs to hit, new Speed Traps to blast through and Drift Zones to get sideways on. Oh, and there are photo challenges and seasonal specials in the form of the Horizon Parade to enjoy too. Split into various sections, you’ll have the chance to pick up Forzathon Points, in-game cash and new cars, all by completing the following…

Part 1 – The Weekly Challenge – Field Trip

To take part in this event, it may be advisable to complete the Speed Trap Challenge this week, as the car you need is the prize for doing that. However you end with it, you need the 2013 Formula Drift #777 Chevrolet Corvette to take part this week.

The stock tune is perfectly fine for all these challenges, no need to blow your hard earned credits this week.

Chapter 1 – Water Can’t Stop Me!

Simple really, get in and drive it. The Falken paint job on this car was always one of my favourites in my 1/10th RC drifting days, but it was a pain to mask up and paint.

Chapter 2 – A Way of Life

Drifting is this car’s way of life, I guess, and to prove it, we need to earn six stars at a drift zone, or a variety of them.

I’m going to suggest the shortest one, Giro Encorvado at the main Festival site. 15k points is enough for two stars, while three stars is only 30K.

Easily achievable in this car, especially if you hit the start line already drifting.

Chapter 3 – Drifting Season

We have to use the Chevvy’s perfect weight distribution to earn ten Ultimate drift skills (or e-drift skills if you prefer). This can easily be done on a roundabout, of which there are a few dotted about the map, and with the correct application of throttle and counter steering, you’ll be drifting for weeks.

A particular favourite of mine is the clover leaf junction on the highway. If you can do this while a skill song is playing, then many points can be yours.

Chapter 4 – 2 For 1

The last chapter sounds intimidating, in that you have to score over 100,000 drift points in under two minutes at drift zones.

However, it’s a piece of cake.

Polytunnels, in the middle-ish of the map is my zone of choice, and with 120,000 needed for three stars, it will take a lot less than two minutes to rack up the points necessary. The key to this zone is to keep drifting side to side, transitioning, even on the straight sections.

Part 2 – Seasonal Championships

There is just the one Seasonal Championship to take part in through this Summer season, and it’s a fairly simple one at that.

Championship 1 – Party Animal

The party animal is question is a Jaguar and with a class restriction of S1 900, it will be pretty wild

I went with a beast that has served me well before, the 2012 XKR-S – the share code is: 138924656.

This an on-road event, and so this tune should see you right. It will be close fought though as the driverbots do not want to give up, so be warned!

Showing your worth as a party animal will see you taking home the 720S Spider.

Part 3 – Weekly Challenges

Challenge 1 – Seasonal Special – Horizon Parade

This seems, on the face of it, to be fairly easy. We only have to place third against average driverbots in order to win, and we have to do it in the Festival Float vehicle. Simply get third or higher to triumph!

Again, no tuning required for this one, so save those pennies.

The race is tight at the beginning and the floats are wide, so bide your time until the track opens out would be my advice.

A Green Pinata Outfit will be yours should you complete the Parade. At least it’ll mean you can finally ditch that damn snowman outfit that you picked up at Christmas. There is also a new accolade tied to winning this race, that nets you a groovy t-shirt as well. Bonus!

Challenge 2 – Danger Sign – Metal Bird

Finally, PR stunts make a return. I mean, the World Cup was fun and all (even if the UK did about as well as usual and came in 4th place), but it’s nice to be chucking cars off ramps, isn’t it?

The car in question needs be an S1 900 Class Hypercar, and the distance needed to get three stars is “only” 92m to beat the seasonal challenge. For three stars, it will be 121.9m, which seems oddly precise.

I chose the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ for this one, as in my opinion it is one of the most stunning looking cars in the game. A little light tweaking gave me a share code of 180357146. This is a new Danger Sign, over the wings of a plane, and the run-up is off road and quite tight, so rewind may well be your friend here.

Fly far and find the Lambo Aventador ‘12 heading your way.

Challenge 3 – Speed Zone – Desierto Vivente

Classic Rally, B Class 700 is the restriction for this event, and so I chose, as any sensible person would, an Escort. The Escort RS 1800 from 1977, to be precise, and if you too want to get your inner Essex bloke on, the share code is 699552840.

Getting an average speed of 75mph will win the seasonal challenge, but as it is a new Speed Zone, you may as well go all out and try to three star it, right?

90mph is your target in that case. Approaching from the south seems to be the optimal route.

A glorious Hoonigan Group A Escort Cossie will become yours.

Challenge 4 – Trail Blazer – River Rapids

We need an Unlimited Buggy in an A Class 800 to complete this challenge, and we need to finish with ten seconds on the clock to beat the seasonal challenge. To three star it, you need twenty seconds left, so it may be better to try again in a faster car.

I gave the duties this time to the trusty Aerial Nomad, a car that looks like it is built of Meccano (remember that?). The tune I used is 144860625.

Unfortunately, there is an inconvenient river in the way, so you may have to go further left than you think in order to sneak it in under the wire.

You may only get a little Wheelspin for taming the rapids, but cross your fingers and you may get more than a pair of shiny new shoes.

Challenge 5 – Speed Trap – East Resort

There’s an issue with this challenge, and it’s this – the car that it is restricted to, the KTM X-Bow GT4, is not a car that can be bought; it can only be obtained by getting twenty points in the playlist. That means this is one to come back to.

Once you have your hot little hands on it, then you need to hit the new East Resort speed trap at 130mph to get the seasonal championship done and dusted, but at more than 200mph to three star it. Even with tuning, I’m not sure the little KTM is up to that, but my tune is 156880070.

Don’t forget to take a photo of this brand new car for your collection.

Approaching from the north saw me nail 159mph through the camera with this tune.

Push your skills to the limit and smash the 130mph barrier and you’ll be well rewarded with the #777 Corvette.

Challenge 6 – Drift Zone – Giro Encorvado

You should be well practised at this now if you followed my advice earlier, and with only ten points required to complete the Seasonal challenge, it should be a piece of gateau, mais non?

You do have a car restriction this time, a Deberti DD Tacoma TRD, a drift truck if you will.

I had previously tuned this thing up for racing, but with a jab of the handbrake it goes sideways like a champ. My share code? 948541039.

Another Wheelspin could well be yours. Again, no shoes please.

Part 4 – Other Challenges

Every week we get the chance to enjoy a bit of variety away from the usual racing. Series 5 – Summer has you taking some snaps of your favourite Track Toy.

Photo Challenge – #PRTAAAYTIME

We need to take a photo of a Track Toy vehicle at the Horizon Rush main stage. Simples, right? Well, the definition of Track seems fairly wide, but as you’ll see from my picture, I chose an absolute classic.

What do you win for taking this picture? A much coveted Horizon Rush Tee. What do you mean you don’t care for clothing?!?

Horizon Arcade – Mini Games

As we have become used to over the last few weeks, we need to finish all three rounds in an Arcade event.

Look for the pink circles on the map, find one that is relevant to your interests (Chaos events are always fun) and complete all three rounds to succeed. It’s as easy as that.

The move into Series 5 is one that should well appeal to many a Forza Horizon 5 racer, if only as the more PR Stunts we can involve ourselves in, the better. If you follow our guide, you should easily be able to pick up enough Season Points to nab the Epic KTM X-Bow GT4 (20pts) and the Legendary Pagani Zonda C for 40pts. Remember, the Daily Challenges work towards these too – and they give you plenty of Forzathon Points to go spending in the shop as well.

These points will also put you well on the way to the Series 5 car rewards of the Forza Edition, highly exclusive, Mini ‘65 FE (80pts) and the equally valuable, Legendary Porsche 917 LH (160pts). You won’t be able to get either of these cars just by completing the Series 5 – Summer challenges, but combine them with what is on offer in Autumn, Winter and Spring and the job will be a good ‘un.

Talking Autumn, stay tuned for our Series 5 – Autumn Challenges guide soon – it’ll tell you how best to get the Rare Toyota 4Runner and Legendary Ferrari FXX K added to your garage.

It goes without saying that in order to take part in what Series 5 and Summer has to offer, you;ll be needing the base game of Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC. It’s freely downloadable via Game Pass and available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Please let us know in the comments if this guide is of any use to you. We’d love to know what you make of our tunes – even if they are rubbish.
